Bridge to 20K - Week 1 Run 3

Last long run = 12k

+10% = 13.2K 🎯

No PB’s today besides new distance πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

I decided to shake up my run today by trying a new route - get me! I ditched the circular 4K loop that I have been doing of a park since I started C25K back in May and opted for an adventure! πŸ€ͺ

A 10K run along a promenade - wet and super refreshing! I kept running in the same direction until Strava told me that I’d hit 5K and then I turned around for the return journey.

Clocked 10K at 1h 3mins 55secs but I think the stats are slightly off because for the first time ever I had to stop at traffic lights 🚦 to cross busy roads to get to the promenade!

With this in mind I decided to push for the same distance that I graduated B210K with last week (12K). So on I pushed! πŸ’ͺ

At 11.5K I felt good 😌 so I did a quick calculation of the 10% rule and thought - why not? Push to 13.2K!

Then I decided I prefer to finish on a half K or a full K so pushed that little bit extra to 13.5K and happily stopped to do my 5 minute cool down walk 😎 and stretches πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

As all the distances are new now I’ve no idea how my stats compare πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ and I’m hoping some PB’s will start to broken again soon! I miss a πŸ₯‡ at the end of a run but for today I’ll reward myself a πŸ† just for the new distance!

Happy running all! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Good stats and a decent run outing PhoenixRise, what they normally say is that the pace drops off from your 5k distance as you go further..... But given your engine I'd doubt that somehow 🀭

Thanks lmc50 πŸ™πŸ» I dropped my pace so much for the longer distance that no PB’s were achieved. But I guess it’s swings and roundabouts!

Well done!! 12km is the furthest I have run so far. Next goal after 10 km I think will be 16km (10 miles) and do as you say the 10% rule. Just 5 more runs to

go on a Garmin timed 5k coach plan then off i go 😁 And your pace and for that distance is great by the way.

Thanks Jools2020 πŸ™πŸ» Yes, new route! Which really made me appreciate how far I had already been running around the park loop!

A good distance here and I hope you grow to like the longer ones as much as the zippy short ones. Not far off 10 miles now and that's awesome going πŸ‘ πŸ˜€ πŸ‘

Thanks Birdlady64 πŸ™πŸ» Well, from 10K onwards my Ave. Pace did drop to between 6:30 - 7:00 so I’ll need to work on consistency moving forwards πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ
