Somehow I’ve been persuaded to enter a half marathon in October. I know I can do the distance having done it once before but the heat of the summer had meant I was only running 10 to 12k max.
So now I’ve started training. Yesterday was a short (5k) run and I decided to push myself a bit. Changing my mapmyrun voice feedback from ever kilometre to every .25k was a bit of a shocker, but must have helped somehow as I actually reached a PB of 25.39. I’ve been trying to break through 27 mins for ages, so although I was completely knackered and couldn’t run another step , I was dead chuffed.
Having a well deserved rest day today - not even time for the gym as I’m at the Albert Hall singing .

Absolutely fabulous! I ran 26:54 at parkrun last week and I can concur it is completely knackering 😂 8.5 min miles is my next target and you've smashed that. You've got sub 25 in your sights now ❤️
Thanks DebJogsOn . It's taken me ages to get my time down and I really was pushing myself to my limits. Not sure I could do it again. Slow and steady run for me later today.
