I started C25K in Jan this year, finished it and kept up running as I love it! I have also lost 5.5stone from last Aug to now and am a healthy BMI again for my height 5’7’’. I also do weights, spin and yoga.
I am doing my first ever 10k on 18th Nov. The Run in the Dark virtually 👍🏻 Yesterday I did 8k in 55mins and felt okay after. If I follow the magic plan will I do a 5K tomorrow? And should I aim to be a faster one- I normally take about 33mins to do it 😎🏃🏽♀️

Wow! Many congratulations on your weight loss! That’s absolutely brilliant 💪 and also for keeping up with the running 🙂
You’ve run 8K which means you’re in great shape for your race. I don't know what plan, if any, you’re following but if you haven’t run fast this week then you could do a fast’ish 5K tomorrow. Just make sure you haven’t increased your total weekly mileage by more than 10% and that you don’t go flat out fast at this stage as you don't want to risk injury.
Good luck for your race, it sounds fab. Let us know how you get on!
I still use the C25K for the first 30mins of my runs!! I am just increasing by runs by a Km each week. My fast will only be 30mins for the 5K - I’m not a fast runner 😉🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️ The race is Run in the Dark. Run at night! It’s for Mark Pollock Trust - To find a cure for Paralysis👌😉
Sounds fab! That is a very worthy cause. Enjoy the race 🙂
You are in great condition to go for it. Plenty of time left too. Your times seem really good. I'd go for a 10k practice slower run in the next couple of weeks and then again on the big day. Brilliant progress with weight loss and running. You deserve your success! Keep up running steady with the occasional zippy one. You know your body and what you're capable of so be positive and good luck!
