Nine runs to go until Beachy Head 10k!

Eight MapmyFitness training plan runs and one trail running instruction session (courtesy of Salomon). I have it all written out on a piece of paper that is currently sitting on a table beside the sofa. Totally unignorable, as if I could forget how close the event is getting! (I may have just made up a word.)

I wrote a whole storyline in here, then accidentally deleted it. Oops!

Long story short, by the time I was where I needed to be to start my run it had turned into a gloriously sunny day. It was still pretty windy though.

I don't use Strava's App to track my runs as I don't really get on with it, but I do have an account as a lot of my friends use it. The one thing I really do like about Strava is the thing that they call GAP - Gradient Adjusted Pace - which basically takes your actual pace according to your GPS and adjusts it for the gradient you were on at the time to account for the extra effort you have to put in going uphill :D

This weather is perfect for running 🙂 Good luck for your 10K. I've just realised I have one next weekend 😯

It is isn’t it? I met 5 runners while walking the dogs just now - that’s really high traffic volume for where I was 😀

Good luck at the weekend

That was a good run! You will do just find at Beachy Head :) I will look forward to your race report - and of course the photo of the bling :)

Thanks! It felt okay - luckily the slight cold I have is making me sound awful, but not actually making me feel ill🙂. Mind you, I think I scared it away, as I did give it a ‘good talking to’ when I felt it starting 🤣

Taylor Beagle will be modelling the bling, she always looks so much better in it than I do.

I do solemnly swear I shall not go too near the edge 😁. Will probably trip over something else instead though!

The gradient adjusted pace is very interesting.....

Trail running session - what does that involve?

Look forward to reading your race report (as you know I used to live near Brighton). Best of luck with your training runs :)

The gradient adjusted pace is a lovely thing to come home to when you’ve been slogging up hills, but I try not to let the downhills up my pace too much, and it adjusts down for those! 😞 Still, can’t complain.

To be honest, I’m not sure what the trail running session involves. It says it’s a beginner session, but it’s obviously geared at competent runners who normally run road and park.

howtotrailrun.salomon.com/e..., takes you to the ‘story’ of 3 people preparing for their first trail running event. I haven’t watched them though.

And equally as obviously they are going to try and flog us their product after as they have asked for our foot size so we can try a pair of one of their new releases. 😜 They won’t get much joy with me as I have only just forked our for my new pair.

Ahh, I found those trail running videos the other day! Very interesting and some great tips for uphill and downhill running. 😊 however their training plan was way out of my league (big increases in distance!)

Big increases in distance are definitely not my thing either.
