RunLEJOG and the gaining-of-miles story

It was all a dream! I thought I must have fallen asleep on the beach 🏖 at St Yves, after a night out at the Bucket of Blood 🩸 🩸🩸 pub, getting an almighty heat stroke 🥵, when dozing off I felt as if I was being dragged onto a bus 🚌 , forced to endure the blatant ignoring of all rules of the run {not race😉}. And when I ended up back in Penzance I mightily regretted having that one last pint! 🍺

But it was all a dream! 💭

Of course I did not drink. 🤔 Of course I did not cheat! 🏴‍☠️ Without me knowing it, I ran on! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏾‍♀️

Yes, my friends. I know now that you also did not step onto that ill-fated bus, and also did not get swept back to the start of the race. We all did actually run on!

Without conscious thought as if in 165BPM trance, without any lament about the music or hip flexors, without any goals of 5k or 10m, I also ran on until I found myself way ahead on the map, not knowing how I got there!

Was it the gregarious kind of gremlins? The Jefferly gliding runner ghosts, was it the kind Cornish pixies?

Or was it the magic that is another RunLEJOG running update!

Anyway, I’m not only back where I was but moved forward quite a bit, thanks to the RunLEJOG kindred spirits!

Have a wonderful run, everyone!

I think it is the good Cornish Pixies who have overcome the Bodmin ghosts and gremlins. I have also magically moved on. I thought I would have to run an extra 20 miles to achieve the goal. I'm glad it is now sorted out.

Happy running

Ha ha enjoy all the fairy gifts along the route.

Just to say I missed out on Jamaica Inn ran by without realising - but I’m now heading towards Cornish Moorland wines!

Will do! Oh you’re way ahead of me ... must be all those 10k+ runs! I’m not jealous at all!! 🤨😃

But watch out for those Cornish Wines 🍷. There almost as bad as the Cornish Pixies 🧚🏻‍♀️ grabbing you and keeping you put.

Yes you’re quite right, the only thing is as I completed my run this morning I appear to have zoomed by - I keep missing out on the nectars of life!

Hi CBDB I hope you don’t mind me asking what wizardry are you using to find such a detailed Lejog map? I’m a real techno twit but I have read through all the instructions but I just can’t fathom the interactive map. I know to lift the wee yellow guy onto the map. Despite doing that I don’t get the level of detail you’re getting. It could be that you are a true boffin - respect. But if I’m being a ninny and it’s easy peasy it would be great to know.

Are you accessing the map through your smartphone or desktop / laptop? Mac or PC.

I can basically do both, on phone I can magnify by using a 2-Finger expanding motion (sounds somehow rude but isn’t meant to be 🤣 ✌🏼) . On PC there is a + button somewhere.

Let me know if that helps at all. If you’re on Mac, than I fear I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♀️.

I’ve been using my iPad and iPhone. As you say using fingers to expand the area. But all I seem to get is a bigger map rather than the fine details you’ve uncovered. I’ll give it a bash on my pc instead. I always forget that sometimes bigger is better 😂. Thanks so much for info!!

Hmmm, it sounds like your expanding the whole webpage, but not the actual map. What happens if you click rather the plus button?

I think I cracked it on my pc! I seem to be on Tolgus Lane Close to Shauns Sheds and Illogan car spares. That was with yesterday’s totals. Will put in today’s miles and see where that takes me! Next hurdle...getting the pictures into pretty montages like yours. But my brain feels fried with the efforts of the map. Onwards and upwards for the next hurdle. Thanks so much ! Xx

Good luck with that!! And a single picture is often much more impactful. I’m just having fun playing around with an Adobe app, but I don’t think it’s free. Happy running, and Well done for RunLEJOG!

Yes, Blood Bucket pub seems to be haunting me in my nightmares 🤣🤣

And yes: All the way up, for me meaning halfway, my target is to get to mile 333.8 😊 (I’ve got it all calculated ✔️ ) and that target will stretch me.

I do excel at the deliciously slow! 🐢 (Now, that is an alias)

Hey CBDB!! The Bucket of Blood is well and truly history now! 😁😉

I think you’ll be well beyond your target, but I haven’t set one! It will be whatever it is when the clock strikes! 😂

⏰...My target is just to be very happy that I did it! 😝😉❤️
