RunLEJOG: Running with Laura

So back in LEJOG land, story goes that me and my running pal Laura ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธare training at Goss Moor National Nature Reserve ๐Ÿด . She is keen on 165BPM, Iโ€™m more keen on 155BPM, so a running tug-of-war ensues. I know I need only two runs more to hit my first 50mile mark and Laura seems to want to get me there on one run alone!๐Ÿคช

First I get my way and we run 1 min on 155BPM and then she pulls me all the way to 165BPM. By the end of this fast ๐Ÿ’จ minute I manage to slow us down and 155BPM suddenly feels more relaxed! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

We do this 6 times, and then the path ends. I feel exhausted, Laura praises me ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ but looking down I see that my trusty running shoes donโ€™t look that good.

Until now they did their best to get me to this stage! Hanging on until I was so used to running regularly that I would even consider facing the dreaded treadmill gait analysis for the next set of shoes.

With a snide expression, they look ๐Ÿ‘€ accusingly at Laura.

But, I have to let them go!

Back home I contemplate the necessity to plan a trip to a running shop and thinking this, I watch our 2 new rescue chickens walk barefoot, without any shoes. For the first time in their lives they walk on forest garden undergrowth, exploring leaves, bugs and worms. Barefoot. A sight to see!

And at RunLEJOG, Laura and I have a good cup of tea at Tiggyโ€™s Tearoom.

Happy running everyone.

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š yes, chickens and I are doing more than fine. We all have our sensations of experiencing the outdoor anew.

(And it is actually quite soothing watching chickens explore the garden)

They did indeed. And I can safely say I ran them to the point way past their best! ๐Ÿ˜

Hi CBCB. Iโ€™ve looked at Goss Moor on a map and it looks ideal for a run. Is the surface good, clearly signposted and where do you park?

CBDBGraduate10 in reply to HeavyFoot

Yes, it does doesnโ€™t it. I fear virtually Iโ€™m also green, so donโ€™t virtually drive. But google images suggest you can park at Tiggyโ€™s Tearooms at the entrance to Gods Moor. But it does look ideal for running ... ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
