So back in LEJOG land, story goes that me and my running pal Laura ๐๐ปโโ๏ธare training at Goss Moor National Nature Reserve ๐ด . She is keen on 165BPM, Iโm more keen on 155BPM, so a running tug-of-war ensues. I know I need only two runs more to hit my first 50mile mark and Laura seems to want to get me there on one run alone!๐คช
First I get my way and we run 1 min on 155BPM and then she pulls me all the way to 165BPM. By the end of this fast ๐จ minute I manage to slow us down and 155BPM suddenly feels more relaxed! ๐
We do this 6 times, and then the path ends. I feel exhausted, Laura praises me ๐๐ผ but looking down I see that my trusty running shoes donโt look that good.
Until now they did their best to get me to this stage! Hanging on until I was so used to running regularly that I would even consider facing the dreaded treadmill gait analysis for the next set of shoes.
With a snide expression, they look ๐ accusingly at Laura.
But, I have to let them go!
Back home I contemplate the necessity to plan a trip to a running shop and thinking this, I watch our 2 new rescue chickens walk barefoot, without any shoes. For the first time in their lives they walk on forest garden undergrowth, exploring leaves, bugs and worms. Barefoot. A sight to see!
And at RunLEJOG, Laura and I have a good cup of tea at Tiggyโs Tearoom.
Happy running everyone.
