First sub 30 minute 5k!

At the ripe old age of 55 years, 7 months and 1 day, and a bit miffed at narrowly missing out on it last week; went out early doors, beat most of the dog walkers, just me, the swans, geese and squirrels most of the way! Chuffed to bits. Now to work on 10k in under an hour! 😁

Congratulations and very well done. You never forget it. I remember my first sub 30 minute 5K, it was in a 5K road race. My first road race. I finished wrecked in a time of 29:56 , I was thrilled. You had more to spare than me.

I missed out on it last week by about 30 seconds due largely to a gremlin attack... this morning all the planets were in alignment, most of the dog owners still in bed, and somehow everything just came together for a good one. Going to keep working on the time now, and hopefully next year if we are allowed out again I'm going to try to get in some Parkruns as well as road races, just to keep motivated. Everything crossed!
