A run along Ayr seafront πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŒŠ

So I've always wanted to run along by a seafront . Then yesterday I had the opportunity to do so and it didn't disappoint.

It was a bit wet and a strong wind coming off the sea but it was brilliant. I ran along as far as i could go then out on the pier to the lighthouse and then turned back.

Now I've had a go i want to do more 😊

It was brilliant. I've always seen other people's posts on here of beach front runs and always wanted to do it myself.

Glad you enjoyed a tour of one of our west coast beaches. Looking typically grey but beautiful. Might see you there one day. πŸ‘

I used to go to Ayr every year as a child as an organised bus day trip and loved it.

I've then took my own 2 daughters quite a few times when they were wee.

It was grey it was wet but it was beautiful and I really enjoyed it. 😊

Takes a lot to beat running by the sea, glad you got this opportunity to, and that it didn’t disappoint

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

I don't think anything could beat it . I really enjoyed it . It only takes just over an hour to get there by car. 😊

Well worth the drive then

Lovely Buddy! I’m so glad you got to run by the sea. I ran Ayr seafront back in February when we were up to see my in-laws (those were the days). I ran to Doonfoot and back which is in the opposite direction to you. The wind was strong and so cold. Definitely an invigorating run! I hope you got views of Arran and Ailsa Craig? 😊🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It just felt so great to run along by the sea and breathe in the fresh sea air instead of running on the pavement next to the roads😊

You took 4 really nice photos of the Ayr seafront that you ran along yesterday, it was too misty to see Ailsa Craig (which I have been to when on holiday in Girvan) and Arran.

The only time I have ran at the seaside was my graduation run along the seafront at Helensburgh.

It really was great AlMorr. Just to run along there with just the smell of the sea😊

There’s nothing like it Buddy. I am blessed to run on the coast in south west and in wales... always more fabulous when you can see the sea.

Glad you were able to run by the coast, and that fresh sea air. Not something I’ve done in this country yet, not quite the same in warmer climates🌞still something for me to consider. Lovely part of the world.

Several seafront parkruns down that way, though Ayr parkrun isn’t one of them. I’m lucky enough to live in Arbroath so probably at least half of my runs are by the sea. I love it too. Also, it’s the only flat route in town πŸ˜‚

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to ArthurJG

Lucky you to have the option to run by the sea anytime and you're right it was so flat . Not one of my 4 runs per week is anything near flat😊

Two of our children went to school by Ayr seafront. Winter views of sunrise over a snowy Goatfell with pink tinges to the waves are a great memory. Also being driven off the sea front by sand in the gale force winds! I didn't run in those days.

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to Runawaytrainer

Great memories to have. It was really windy when I was there but I didn't care. Just to be able to run with a view if the sea was brilliant 😊

Lovely Buddy...I've only done it once, on a holiday in Barmouth this time last year, I loved it too.

It's windy and you get sand in your eyes, and whip lash from your hair but surely that's half the fun πŸ˜†πŸ‘
