Achilles reboot: Run #2 (C25K week2 run1 revisited)

So here I am gradually increasing the load to make sure I don't wreck the Achilles tendon again.

So I did C25k week 2 this time, again with some extra. 6x 90s with 2 mins in between. But the last run I did it for 3 mins to see if I could survive it. Then as "Lose Yourself" came on at the end I hijacked the cool down walk to run to Eminem. Then did some stretches back home.

So far no problems, so 🀞🀞🀞

I've annotated the pretty Strava graph with the songs that were playing in each running bit. By interval 2 I was definitely "In the mood". Yeah, I know "My happy ending" is a bit teen-angst, but is a memory from when my daughter was a teen.

Next run - week 3 of C25K - same length of time running as week 2 but in 3x3 mins. I might stick with that for a few goes before jumping up to Week 4 which has 16 mins in total.

The body is willing but the Achilles tendon might be weak. (To paraphrase a well-known biblical quote).

You are doing very well indeed Iain, those songs will help you with your running, I must admit that I am not a fan of Eminem, although there is probably some talent with them, good luck with week 3, hopefully you won't have any problems with your Achilles tendon.

I believe Eminem was praised by Seamus Heaney, when he was professor of Poetry at Oxford, for the ingenuity of his lyrics.

The song is great to run to as it has a very clear beat to run in time to.

Well done Iain, yours was a bad injury so it’s right to take it slowly. All fingers and toes firmly crossed for you.
