I know it’s early days but I am ENJOYING this programme. A wee fast run to begin with (hey, it’s all relative!) and today I did the longest of the three runs for the week because psychologically now I’m thinking the 5k is an easy-peasy way to round the first week off. Ok, maybe not easy-peasy but I so enjoyed today’s run. Took it super slow and felt like I could go for ages. Had a little in the tank to speed up on a couple of sections and powered through (again, it’s all relative) to the end. I’m excited to be have a clear goal again and this time armed with the knowledge that it’s possible. 10k here I come (with my wee short legs)!

I loved reading this 🧡
So many positives here too. Brilliant that you are enjoying it because this is so important in order to keep consistent. Also that you 'Took it super slow and felt like I could go for ages.' This is just the way to do it and build distance! Ice low heart rate and comfy pace. Awesome start for you. Be proud 😁
Thank you 😊 I have to work at not giving in to slow pace self-loathing but definitely want to play the long game and keep it going without injury or general knackering of my spirit 😄 Also, ‘Ice low heart rate’ makes it sound super cool and quite spy-like actually so that’ll be fun to focus on, thanks! 😆
You sound as if you’ve got this sussed 🙂 and how a run should feel. Btw, I have a feeling you’re a fellow Celt...? 😉
Oh I so haven’t got it sussed but thank you 😅 I’m in Scotland but of Irish extraction a few generations back. Would love to spend some proper time over there but so far have only managed a couple of Dublin trips. Would love to explore the coastal areas in particular.
