The best laid plans

My work day went fast downhill and suddenly we have no night staff at all and run out of options so the boss and i packed up our laptops to come home and sleep so we can go back to work tonight.

Then i thought oh no, it’s run day, so got home went for a run....

Winds of 34 miles an hour and negative splits, Willow went off faster than me and we got blown all over the path,

3.22 slow

1.20 faster

.6 faster still

The weather gods were having a laugh and goodness only knows why i thought Adele would cheer me up, she wasn’t very successful while she was singing then there was a media error and she stopped, the run stopped too but after some faffing i managed to start it off again and suddenly we are running faster, just a bit, as I passed Willow he said I can’t and I never saw him again. Oh crikey now faster still, I’m beginning to puff and my legs are sore.

I think I got negative splits but the media error really messed the stats up

I’m going to eat toast and drink tea sleep for 4 hours and then it’s back to work for a 10 hour shift

Happy whatever day it is everyone

By the time I write this you will probably be fast asleep!

Even though your run was a little 'haphazard' it sounds as though you'll benefit from being out in the fresh air before your ultra long shift. Some people would have bailed out of the run knowing they had to go back to work, so well done you!

Thank you, I’m on day 5 no nicotine patches and not sure if i’m a bit miserable because of that or because of work so i’m blaming work so i needed that run

The wind is insane here. Husbands work got cancelled as the ship they were due to unload couldn’t get into Shoreham harbour!

Hope you have a quiet night at work.

Yes it’s ridiculous so i don’t feel too bad that the run was a minute slower than Saturdays run

I hope you managed to get some sleep to go back out tonight and you managed to fit in a run. Well done you 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💪

Thanks Buddy, it’s all a bit dire at the moment, the run helped

Any run at all sounds like a triumph in the circumstances!!

Blimey...well done on every single level!!!

Hope work goes okay!

Thanks Floss, it’ll be ok

Good for you making the effort to get out there and in challenging weather too - running kudos for sure -and hope you are now catching some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's before the night shift. Hope all goes well later. SP

Thanks, I got a bit of sleep I’ll catch up tomorrow

Brilliant effort getting out before your night shift. I hope it is reasonably uneventful for you. Happy running 🤗

Thank you, I’m sure it’ll be fine

You’re a superstar. 😊 So glad you still managed your run. A bit of “time out” before your impromptu shift. Here’s to a quiet, uneventful night! 🌻

WillowandSolaGraduate10 in reply to Gannet1

I’m hoping it will be quiet and uneventful

Well done on your running..and good luck with work.🙂

Thank you, running helps me make sense of this crazy world

Absolutely - me too! 🙏

Honestly you are so awesome. I read this and think how busy you are and yet still...still you fit in a run. Utterly astounding. Wherever you go running wise you'd have earned every single step of it. Look after yourself and stay safe x

Thank you, I was just reading your 17 miles post and wondering how much i’d have to push myself to get that far, fitting it in would be a nightmare, running 4 times a week is beginning to make our legs ache, we keep saying we will walk one, but the next one is hills lol

Well done. You are braver than me. I could not face it this evening, cold, windy, driving rain. I’m warm and dry. I’ll be running again soon.

WillowandSolaGraduate10 in reply to damienair

Enjoy being in the warm and dry Damien we are wondering what thursday’s hill repeats will bring

Crikey! What a day and what a run. It sounds like the wind was pushing you along. You are probably into your shift now, so I hope you have an uneventful night and all goes smoothly. The wind is certainly blowing a hoolie where I am, so must be wilder near where you are on the coast 🤗.

WillowandSolaGraduate10 in reply to Delly-dot

It was pretty grim, we go round in ovals so we got blasted from every side,

Well done for getting out there, shows real determination and commitment. Hope you have a quiet night and good luck with the hill run on Thursday 👍

WillowandSolaGraduate10 in reply to Mum22boys

Thank you, the night was fine actually, busy but not overwhelming, and when people woke in the night they were highly amused to see me 😆🤣😆

One lady kept asking us what we were doing there and couldn’t get over us being there at bedtime instead of morning

You pair are absolutely awesome - that's all I can say!!!

Well...when it’s WillowandSola run’s run day!! 🤩 Go both of you!! Well done to you both!! 😁 That was an amazing run in that weather!!

I’ll have a word with Adele for you!! 😉 Hope you had a good rest before the shift!! ❤️
