Done a bit of consolidation, now decided to start a structured plan to get to 10k. I didn't get out much last week, partly down to the heat, partly down to getting a bit of a shock- getting out of the shower I saw a large lump on my left side just below the rib cage. I have a family history of cancer on both sides, so was on the phone to the GP as soon as they opened. Emailed a couple of pics to the surgery, I'm in at the local Nuffield for an ultrasound on Thursday (fortunately I have private healthcare through work). The doc thinks it's a lipoma, basically a benign lump of fat (just about sums me up) so everything crossed.
Meanwhile I have done a lot of sitting and thinking, and in the event I do have to go into hospital I've decided it's best to be as fit as possible, hence I have printed off a copy of the Magic Plan and stuck it on the fridge door. Done W1 R1 tonight, actually went a bit over the 2.5k mind you (Ms Strava only counts in whole km) but I'm hoping that having a bit of structure again will help rather than just going out running with no plan. Hoping also it will help me push past the plateau I seem to have hit with the weight loss, my belly circumference is still 41" and according to my smart scales my body fat is still 26.5% which plants me in the "obese" category, the weight is dropping off exceedingly slowly at the moment and I've been hovering between 87-89kg for about 7-8 weeks now.
Everything crossed for a successful outcome on both counts...!
