Ok, I’m a runner newbie, recent C25k graduate 🏅, and I’ve signed up and am really excited about Monday’s start of the #runlejog4 EndToEnd challenge.
As a runner newbie 🐢, I knew there is no way of me finishing this race in a year! But just the thought of virtually crossing the country is so enticing! 🇬🇧
A perfect blend of a virtual and physical experience, meshed up in a running activity, how good can it get? 👩💻🏃🏼♀️
And I’m sure that in our post/intra-pandemic 🦠 world we’ll have to resort to more of these virtual/physical mash-ups, of which this one is just a delightful example.
So I signed up knowing I would never get that T-shirt or that medal 👕 . (But I’m sure I will feel like I deserved one 😂)
And I did some calculations, and currently continuing to run as I do, I’d get to .... Worcester. Yes, I am really slow and leave two days recuperation between runs, but this works well for my fitness levels and the health of knees, limbs and back. And don’t knock Worcester!
Now my home town is ca 70 miles further, and on the route (!!!) which thus gives me a convenient stretch target. Will I be able to increase my runs? Can I either increase to running every 2nd day, or increase to a distance of 30% higher? This would allow me to achieve running from Lands End to my own hometown?
( Have I said this would also be my first ever official running race! This running toddler hasn’t even experienced parkruns yet!)
We’ll have to see how far I get. For everyone else signed up: Enjoy and Good luck! I’m sure you all will be ahead of me as I will be the tail runner, and very much enjoying herself whilst watching everyone go go go!
