When I opted for the virtual race 50miles in June challenge I was really worried about whether I would manage it. They had a 25 but I thought that wouldn’t be challenging enough.
As I’m a relatively new runner, I’m overweight and just short of 50 I know I need to take it steady and I always have a day in between my runs. So how was I going to manage 50miles. I knew I’d i could increase my runs and manage some 10kms thus would make it more achievable.
Well I’ve got 9 days left and I’m ahead of my target . 37 miles completed 13 miles left to do.
My parkrun Saturday. (3)
My 10k Monday (6)
And I ll have 5 days left to complete the final 4 miles .
Yeah . It has been a good month . The challenge has really kept me focused and I’ve been on some lovely runs . 😊😊😍🏃🏽♀️.
I’ve even added a 1 mile fast one yesterday. Was still over a 10minutes mile but it killed me .
Looking forward to getting my medal😁

Well done , it's a good challenge. I signed up for this month too. Great start, but have been laid up with a virus so I think it's gone out the window now.
Can you change the challenge to a shorter distance so you can still achieve it. Raceatyourpace allow you to do that until a certain date. Good luck and hope you’re running fit soon.
Thanks , have just had a look and it's more that you change up. I was at 21 miles until 10 days ago and have done the 50 mile one previously so not desperate for 25 mile bling and they send you the t-shirt anyway. Maybe you could push on to 75!!! - or bear it in mind for next time. Good luck with the rest of it.
