Well run 3 of the plan didn’t go at all well, first Jo text to say she was going and I was in the middle of a conversation with my boss, who then said it’s ten to four you better go! drove home, pulled off my shirt, I’d worn leggings and trainers to work knowing time would be tight, we went to the park….. Garmin 10k plan run 3,
No Jo so warm up, garmin says ten minutes, after 5 Willow ran off and I walked on, no Jo, the next 20 minutes was 20 seconds stride 45 seconds recover, so off I went, thinking that garmin would buzz for change of pace, nope, so 20 seconds was fine then 45 seconds was fine then I lost count, then I saw the chocolate Labrador pup we’ve been seeing lately, so stopped for a little play, then walked, stopped the watch, felt fed up, came home, ate raspberries and yogurt and realised i hadn’t eaten again, no wonder i’m losing weight, which is good.
Text message from Jo, she had been running round the new paths round the golf course, well she knows where we start so…..
No matter Saturday is another day
Have fun all

Oh no! That was definitely a no Jo type of run, but the puppy sounds lovely. I hope you didn’t get too hot and bothered and that Saturday goes more to plan! 🤩
Saturdays will be fine, I shall go home a bit early and we’ll run along the river, looking at it both of us were faster so it wasn’t a complete failure
Thank you Floss, I’m really feeling a bit down about it at the moment but I spoke to the registrar yesterday and asked when the numbness would wear off so i could eat properly and she said maybe never, 3 weeks and no biopsy results but hey, I’m back at work and can run a bit, shouldn’t complain xx
Oh gosh... well that is quite understandable...things are looking up, but, there are still clearly worries. You are doing well, back at work and getting out there, so just try to stay positive , stay strong and hopefully questions will be answered and in time...slowly and steadily things will improve.
I had trouble with the Garmin workouts when I was on one of their HM plans, I kept missing the buzzing so I had to keep looking at the watch for the cue... That's one of the reasons why I gave it up. But you went out there and ran and you got to play with a puppy! 🥰 Better luck with the tech on Saturday 🤞
Sorry it seemed such a bad day. You still seemed to have got out and done very well despite everything. My Garmin does buzz on stride repeats, which is just as well as he keeps putting them in every week, along with my 1.61km time trial. I’m getting to hate a mile run! I’m not convinced these plans are “adaptive” either as it doesn’t seem to matter what I do. I think I prefer the NRC plans while listening to my body telling me when I feel fine, but I will persevere with this to the bitter end because I’m just stubborn, but never again.
I got so frustrated and bored with the Garmin HM plan I was on that I started dreading run days so I quit after a few weeks. Then I started the NRC plan and what a difference! I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I got injured and it's been a long journey back but I will restart it when I'm ready 😊
That’s interesting about the stride repeats, I will look it up maybe it’s a setting i’ve played with, the other problem i have is all the runs fall on work days despite me putting days off as available so i’m always slower and tireder after work
It also vibrates if I’m running too fast or too slow. It seems to do so at about 15seconds into my stride, so I know the next buzz is the end of stride one!I had to play with my long run day to get it to shift the runs to the days I wanted to go out.
My lovely I'm so sorry you are finding things tough at the moment. You've done brilliantly so far, and you've been through such a lot it's natural to lose the oomph to keep smiling now and then. Wishing you a happier run on Saturday, and sending a grumpy-style ((hug)) your way.
Thank you 😊 so much I’m feeling better today, have to be philosophical about it and carry on as normal as i can, I dream one day that chocolate will taste better again but it’s not a huge loss As long as I can still run and everyone who wants to can as well
