Set off early yesterday morning with a new running friend who set the pace at a leisurely 8min per km. Perfect for a return to running. The heat was incredible even first thing. We did 4.5km together then she peeled off as we reached her road and I pushed the pace back up the hill towards home. That bit knackered me! 6km completed proving to myself that I still have it in my legs. I can’t believe the level of fitness I have retained. I’m still way fitter than when I started C25k. Bit achy this morning so some stretches and a hot shower.
Photo is painted pebbles that we passed lined up along the edge of the path. That was a lovely surprise. Sorry it’s sideways, can’t seem to do anything about that, but I can reassure you I was upright when I took it.

Hi Baddie, Lovely to see you again. So impressed that your fitness enabled you to run 6km after a break in running. How long was your break? I stopped for two months to catch up on my ridiculously long list of gardening tasks and have since restarted at W4 C25k. Due to begin W9 tomorrow. Happy injury free running to you. 😊🏃♀️
Once you've uploaded a picture of the rock to Facebook, you can take it with you to hide anywhere you'd like. Someone else will eventually find it, re-post it, and hide it again, sending it on its way to brighten another persons day! All that's left do to now is find more!"
I have seen a couple of these rock snakes. One I suspect is the one that Baddie saw, the other is in my local park. This one was started at the beginning of the school holidays, inviting children to add to it.
Although we passed the other day and a small boy was trying to take one home with him - it was bigger and better than the one he was leaving His mum persuaded him to leave it there, but I have since noticed few gaps where some have been taken.
The person who started it posted a photo on Facebook of a new rock, asking people not to remove the stones but that seems to have disappeared!
Great that you are back out there. This sounds really positive too. Keep going 😊
Below run with a friend, it seems like the perfect combi8of recovery speed for your distance then a quick blast to finish. Well done. I love these pebble trails, we have one in the village. Happy running 🤗
Good to see you out there again. We have a very similar painted stone thing going on in the woodlands (I must get a photo) with a couple of larger stones towards the end... our boy pup is an art critic and always cocks his leg up those!
A lovely run with a friend Baddie, and her leisurely pace was just perfect for the heat. We also came across a snake of pebbles last weekend , And it’s lovely to see the individual paintings. That reminds me that I need to pick up a Pebble at the beach so that I can add one to it. 😄
It was so nice to have someone setting the pace. I did 3km this morning and supposedly started slowly, but it was still too fast and I just got slower as the run went on, and more tired as I went. I'm going to have to use music to pace me.
