Day 3 of 10k plan

We have agreed that the plan pushes us, Tuesday we did a benchmark run for 9 minutes Garmin told us good job, after work on Thursday we ran 3.22 k totally knackered and very hot so a slow run , Garmin told us room to grow, today after another long day at work.....flipping Garmin said run again so we did, only 1.6k though, there was a group of young men playing frisbee across our path, so after a five minute warm up walk round the track we diverted alongside the golf course, it was a bit faster than yesterday

weekend shopping done straight afterwards and declined invite to swim with grands, there is a limit and we’ve reached it!

Thoughts on the plan so far? it’s brilliant it makes us go out when otherwise we wouldn’t and getting two good jobs and one room to grow in the first week makes us want to work harder, it’s stiflingly hot here in the south and we love that too

Have a great weekend runners

Definitely a hot one here W&S 🥵! It sounds like you are getting a lot out of your running plan, brilliant. I think I might have been tempted into the sea. One day I might run down my cycle path route and see if I can reach it!

Keep safe and cool ☺️

Good day for you, the north of the UK today has had some rain and damp weather (22C) in complete contrast to the +35C temperatures of the south of England where you are, I am glad that you don't mind that heat, but it's not good weather for running. 😊 🏃🏾

It does make it hard to run but after a day inside at work the air was lovely

Sometimes you just need that structure and a small push out of the door...

I certainly wouldn’t have run two days in a row in this blistering heat, the grands text to say come swimming but after work run shop we just couldn’t, mind you it was nice and cool in sainsbury’s lol

I agree - having a plan does give you that extra push to extend yourself. Getting to 10k again is my next step too. Weather is glorious down here isn’t it; you’d have enjoyed a dip in the sea - I did earlier on today! Happy running!

Having a plan in place can be a great thing . Take care in the heat. 🤗

I'd be tempted to jump straight in the water after a run 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

We went to sainsbury’s and stood by the chill cabinets lol, if we’d gone home in between we wouldn’t have got out again and we here was no milk and no cat food left and there is no way i’m shopping on a saturday morning

Sometimes Willow shops while I’m at work but I wanted to shop and was in desperate need of a trip to a boots, that is my favourite place sometimes, go in for a pack of vitamins and come out with armfuls of goodies 😂

You seem to have found a plan that works for you which is great but oh my, the thought of running in the heat you have😅 I’d have skipped the run and had a swim😊 happy running 🤗

It was a hard choice but the run felt easier

So positive that you are out there regularly and I hope the miles in the legs start to show 😊 rest up and keep hydrated and a massive well done so far!

Thanks, it’s a push but i’m off work for a week so running will come first,

Well deserved! Yes, give it a good go and see how you feel at the end of the week.

Where can I find this plan? I’m still doing 5k x3 and can’t get motivated to change yet. Well done on your runs 😀

Do jujus plan. I did the time first, mixing the slower/distances first the did the time from week 6 onwards. Week 8 did 60mins. Then did an easy 2 weeks which finished with 10km. So I did it easily over 10 weeks. That was a month ago.

Just take it nice and easy.

A lot of discussion re. running every day, which is not recommended. Also saw on TV someone going to do a marathon over 26 days cause London is cancelled.

So I've decided to try doing it over 14 days starting with 2ks for a week then increasing to 3ks. Did my first 2k this morn.

Thanks I will try the plan. Just feel strange doing a short run first 🤔

It helps to relax and to build up nice and slowly.

You dont want to be injured or knackered before the big day.😎
