Which water bottles do you take out with you?

I've purchased a small soft 150ml flask with vacuum lid.. I'm looking for maybe 300ml but not sure if these 300ml soft flasks are " too clumsy "...? Thoughts... what do you take with you?

At the moment I'm not taking anything because my longest run us still under 40 minutes but I do have a belt with two small bottles that I will bring with me when I get on to the longer runs on the magic plan 🙂

I've a flipbelt, bottles that fit are not available for while yet..

What belt have you got Beatlesforever ?

It's just one I got on Amazon, it has two pouches with the bottles and it has a zip pocket for your phone, keys, etc. But I haven't tried it yet. I imagine I will soon, it's supposed to get really hot towards the end of the week!

Great to hear! I'll try it out this week 😊

A little tip I’ve found - wear it loose enough so you can twist it round on your waist to access the bottles/zip compartment. I keep jelly babies in the pocket and can’t be dealing with faffing around with the zip behind my back! Also it makes it easier to remove/put back the bottles. 😀

Cool, thanks for the tip! 😄

Keep them somewhere dry .... I didn’t on one run, and had jelly slugs. 🙄

I use a 250ml soft bottle with a bite valve. Easy to carry and doesn’t slosh about.

Do you find that 250ml is enough.. I'm doing 10.5km at the moment.

Its an individual thing but it suits me for up to about 15 miles.

I have the same belt as Beatlesforever and it’s perfect at the moment. I fill one of the bottles with Tailwind and the other with plain water. I also have a hydration pack/bladder that I use for very hot and/or runs beyond 10 miles. Below 12k I take nothing. 🏃‍♀️😀

10k for me is hilly n slow 90+mins.

What's Tailwind?

Hydration pack bladder.. is that a vest you wear?

What's easiest to have & use ? cheekychipmunks

Tailwind is a nutrition powder which you add to water. There are endurance ones, electrolyte ones and caffeinated ones in all different flavours and I find it gives an added boost when I start to flag. There are other supplements on the market too.

The hydration bladder is great, although I’ve not used mine yet this year. There a knack to sipping from the straw on the run but it’s good to be hands free. I got an inexpensive vest on Amazon (Aonijie I think it is).

The hydration pack/bladder is probably easier to use, but it’s overkill for most of my runs. I did 10 miles with my belt/bottles last week, but it depends on the weather for me really. 😀

I prefer to tank up before the start, roughly speaking I lose about 800_900 ml per 10k, which I drink in the hour before the run.. Carrying things for me except for the phone is done with an old holiday Bum bag so a water bottle is out for me but each to his/her own, what ever floats your boat😁👍

I don't drink enough water full stop.. the thought of that before a run fills me full of fear .. but its works for you n we are all different. Its a fantastic forum for help n advice.

I hate running belts so if I take liquid, which would only be on runs over 9-10 miles, I wear a hydration vest asas they’re a zillion times better 👍🏽 I have a 500ml soft flask which would be plenty for a half marathon maybe more but it does have a 1.5l bladder if I need more like in marathon training.
