Well done for getting out in the rain. Sensible to go slow - we have a lot of injured runners here so best to be sensible. If you only graduated about a month ago, then 5k runs, or more, are still new. Perhaps you could do one shorter run a week? Not every run has to be at least 5k.
Great effort keeping up these runs post graduation. I agree with Roxdog mix up your runs a bit with some shorter runs. Those of us who graduated 10k dont run 10s on every run, cant afford the shoe leather π€£ happy running π€
Hi OldSpeckledHen , firstly, well done on getting out in the rain..and mugginess, the latter of which would be the worst for me! You have done well, you have run 5k...and I bet that's not something you thought you would ever do a few shorts weeks ago eh?? Doesn't matter how fast or slow...these are your runs and you can bank the stamina and mileage you've just clocked up and even though you graduated in May you are still very much a new runner and your body is still adjusting to what you're putting it through on every run...and also what you do the day before a run can make a difference i.e sleep, hydration etc, we all have these kind of annoying runs but they just help to make our runner personality a little bit stronger...keep going OSH, you're doing well...hopefully that niggle was just a gremlin reminding you how new you are to all of this π
