All set for my 60 minute run today. Clothes laid out the night before ✔️.... early night✔️.... alarm set for 5.30 so it’s not too hot ✔️....
Then I had headache all evening from about 4.30, right at the back of my neck, tried lots of water, massaging my neck and shoulders, tablets... nothing would shake it. Went to bed hoping it would clear and fell asleep surprisingly easily. Then I woke at 3.30 for the loo and was on my way back to bed when my stomach suddenly churned and I had to dash back to be violently sick !!🤢
I’m blaming it on the lovely long walk I had with my son yesterday. The plan was to go early before it got too hot but his idea of early morning -11.45.... and mine are two different things!!!! It was so hot, I think maybe with the sun on the back of my head, that that was the cause of my headache etc.
I tried to drop off again but just lay there feeling nauseous and couldn’t settle so I’m up but still feeling queasy and decided one more day won’t hurt. I’m probably a bit dehydrated too now so I’m going to laze and drink plenty and stay in the shade today and try again tomorrow morning.
Trying to be sensible but it’s hard when all I want to do is run. As it is smallest kitty is trying to help by curling up on my lap and sleeping, which is a rarity as she’s usually far too busy, so I will take advantage of that and just chill. Annoyingly my coffee is on the other side of the room.......🙄😩

Sorry you are a bit under the weather, and I do know how hard it is not to run. I've had "a bit of" achilles tendinitis this week, not that bad, I can hardly feel it walking and I can even run with it but I know the sensible thing is not to run for maybe a week to let it get better, but yes, it's so hard . . . stay strong and take it easy, definitely the right decision 👍😊
Oh limberlou I do hope you feel much better soon. You possibly did get too much sun and that has caused the headache and sickness. Get plenty of water down you and rest with your beautiful cat 🤗🤗🐱🐱
I don’t get much rest with THAT one she is soo chatty. She runs along beside me chattering away and if I try to have a conversation with anyone she keeps butting in till we talk to her. I thought my 2 older ones were chatty but she beats the lot. Yet my fluffy black one we got at the same time as her barely makes a sound.( can’t get a word in I think).
All cats have their own personalities, my neighbour's cat comes in every morning around breakfast time, follows me around the house "chatting" then goes out again 😂😂
Aww LL, I’m sorry. I does sound like you were dehydrated and hopefully it’ll pass swiftly. Even so, I might be tempted to rest up for at least a couple of days to let your system recover properly.
I love your black kitty! 🐈 ❤️ I love chatty ones too - mine is too. 😀 Cuddle up with them all and take care.
THEY cuddled up to ME in the end once I’d fallen back to sleep 🤣🤣. But it DID mean I finally managed to get Lunas new collar on. I did all the others 4 days ago but she freaked out when I took the old one off ( which I’d had to get the vet to put on her at her last years vacs/ checkup. ). They have the quick release fasteners and all of my cats are chipped too but I like them to have a collar so people know they have homes. Also they are reflective ones as 2 of my cats are black and one a mackerel tabby and it makes them more visible at night. Yes I’m a sad old cat lady 🙄
Oh dear, sorry you are still feeling unwell 😕. Maybe no run tomorrow?
Very much the right decision and you'll feel all the better for going out there when you are physically ready. Take it easy and hydrate and you'll soon be back!
Sorry to read this limberlou. Yes, definately take a little time to recover - especially as you may now be a bit de-hydrated. Enjoy the company of your feline friends - now they know how to chill in the heat! 🐱🙂x
Oh dear - does sound like a touch of sunstroke. You must be incredibly dehydrated if you are so tired. Would be good to take an electrolyte drink if you have anything like that around?
Ooh I have!! I’d forgotten about them. I’ve drunk about 4 pints of water, a glass of bitter lemon, a glass of elderflower and lemonade, 4 fruit teas and an ordinary tea so far. Oh and a glass of Vanilla Milk
So sorry to hear you’ve been unwell limberlou!! 🤗🤗
Really does sounds like the right decision. A little R&R is going to make that run so much more enjoyable. It will be worth the wait!! Take care! I hope you’re feeling better soon too! 🤗🤗❤️
Hope you are feeling better. These are typical symptoms of sunstroke. I have had twice over the years. On both occasions were on days where there was a breeze and I hadn’t realised just how much sun I had caught. One occasion I was literally feeling so poorly driving home from Wimbledon I had to stop on the hard shoulder of the motorway. I’ve learned my lesson the hard way but now as I have short hair always make sure I put sunscreen on my neck face and arms and when holidaying abroad especially will wear a hat also.
Yeah I had it once before, but was also sunburnt then, with alternate shivering and hot flushes too. And I was due to play in a ladies singles darts tournament that night too. I went along thinking I’ll be knocked out in the first round and I can go home. I was so out of it that I was really relaxed and ended up winning the trophy 🤣. Had to play 4 diferent people in the end and drank pint after pint of water through the evening. Then went home to bed and slept and slept and slept.
I had plenty of sunscreen on so I hadn’t burnt this time but the sun was on back of my head a lot so that’s probably it. And my hair is very fine so not much protection.
Feeling better today but after sleeping most of yesterday on and off I still slept for 10 hours last night so I’m giving it one more day of hydrating and resting before I run again. Going to try a short walk in a bit while it’s still cooler.
