A round of applause for that lady! 👏🏻

You know when you’re not sure you want to go running 😴? You know you should because you’re part of a group challenge (don’t ask! 🤷‍♀️ seemed a good plan)? I went out and it was 🥵 so not looking promising. I was cheered up quite early when I passed 2 ladies walking and our exchange went “old enough to know better” (me) and their reply “and young enough not to care”!! How true!!! Just the boost I needed - headspace not pace unfortunately. I carried on with a smile and faffed around keeping to the shade but decided I’d tackle an exposed path (flat-ish trumps shade apparently). Went past them again “how did that happen?” I was at 4.9k (it’s a 5k challenge) when I met them again and they stepped aside and applauded me. 🥰 They’ll never know how happy that made me and it’s the happiest I’ve ever been about a very average time. 😁 Always look on the bright side if you’re managing to get out there folks.

Thank you - you know how I felt before I went out too. Maybe I should just record some applause for the end of every run!! 🤣

What a great run made so special with the 2 ladies giving you a round of applause. People just need to realise its little things like this that can make someone's day 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🌞🌞👏👏

Thank you. Absolutely!! Although the guy who did it under 17 minutes deserved it more than me (mind you that was MY best so I deserved it) 😌 It’s the little things as usual

What a brilliant experience for you on your run. So happy for you. Carry that feeling into future runs and celebrate each completed run for what it is - a run not a sit on a couch. Happy running 🤗

Well done and what an amazing boost to have that applause. 👏👏We worry so much about others opinions and really most people are so supportive. As for the not wanting to go out I totally get it! Remember the feeling you had today to spur you on next time 🏃🏃😊

Thank you. Yes We’re all doing our best but it’s so rewarding when others notice. If only we could bottle that feeling! Cheers

Awww that made me smile. 😍 How lovely - I totally understand how those ladies must have made you feel. Good for them, and well done for completing your challenge! 🏃‍♀️👏🎉

Thank you. Unfortunately it’s a weekly challenge so I’ll have to do it again next week. It’s not that it’s a struggle any more but it’s robbing me of the joy. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy a stat as much as the next man but the WhatsApp chat takes it to another level! I’ll keep my head down and probably withdraw gracefully from the group. It’s all about happy running after all 😊🏃🏼‍♀️

Lovely post and timely for me having those same “I don’t want to” feelings last night. I applaud you as well!

Thank you. It’s usually worth it when we do manage to get out but sometimes we need a wee push! Glad I could provide it for you. 😆

I love this and it's so well deserved for you and for all of us because there's a lot that can go into actually 'getting out there' both mentally and physically so well done you!! Keep smiling 😁😁

Yes - deserved for all of us!! I think they should provide a round of applause at the start of the cool down walk on the app. It certainly was a greater boost than “well done” even if it was from Sarah!
