Hi to those of you who remember me...it's been a long long while!
I went AWOL for about 7 months I think ๐In that time I have attempted to run only a few times - its time to admit that what I once had, I've well n truly lost. Not surprisingly in terms of muscle conditioning, lung capacity etc. not to mention weight gain. Pushing myself out for a run every once in a while is a meaningless activity, so I'm starting over ๐๐ฆ
Which is why I'm saying hello and goodbye all at once ๐
I've restarted C25K ๐ฌ - I have every faith in it, i've done it before and I can do it again.
W1R1 completed this morning. Nearly killed me, it was like going back in time. Except I'm 2years older now!
Anyway, I may be back one day so watch this space.
Just wanted to connect with you lovely runny people once more ๐ค I hope you're all keeping well xxx

Iโve been running all along. Currently in week 5 of 16 half marathon training towards an imaginary race as Great Manchester Half has been postponed (and, frankly, is unlikely at all this year). Will ditch this late June if we are still locked down and start a 16 week Marathon programme instead.
Lovely to see your post. All the very best for c25k round two. As you say you have done it before so you know it works.
I have conflicting demands on my time at the moment. I enjoy gardening, but have hours and hours to do to sort it, so I'm thinking of stopping my running, in fact I think that I have decided to stop until the garden is in order, but I don't want to lose the fitness level I have achieved. Ah well! The runs will wait as I have said many times before.
This is the best social media site on the Internet, I am still running, I have ran 17 official Parkruns, 4/10Ks, I hope to run my 5th next Wednesday, also, there are a group of runners who have been running "5K virtual parkruns" on a Saturday morning at the same time as official parkruns are held, tomorrow will be my 8th.
Hello and hello!! Forgotten you? Of course not!! So wonderful to have you back too!! ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
I have had a few quiet periods and impromptu breaks myself, so I know how that feels. Life can certainly take you completely off track and back to prioritising other things above yourself. Itโs often been challenging to get back out there, especially when it doesnโt feel as easy anymore, but somehow Iโve managed to find a little chink to keep going back for more. And so will you!! ๐ค๐ค
Iโm so pleased to see youโre back ๐ฆ!! And Iโm looking forward to cheering you on!!
Well done, comeback run complete! ๐ช๐ฝ๐ฅ
You will be just as great as the last time! Happy running Flar!! ๐ฆ โค๏ธ
Hey Fabz! It actually does feel really good to have started again. Structure is what I need I think ๐ And a sense of achievement will be a big help! Lovely to hear you're still out there, well done lovely ๐ค๐
As you can see here you may have been gone but youโre definitely not forgotten! I have a duck on my shoulder because of you so how can I forget you ๐คฃ๐คฃ
We all know you can do it again and youโve got so many more running buddies on here now there will be even more support. Just remember to give yourself a little love and donโt be so hard on yourself.
Good luck with your new journey and I truly hope you come back. Perhaps we can Isabel Trail again one day? Take good care Xxx
Aww hello my lovely TC! And thank you ๐ค That first run back this morning has given me some hope, tough though it was! I feel the fire in Flara's belly could be returning ๐ฆ๐ Isabel Trail would be amazing, I would love that! Hope you, Katnap and the kittens are all well xxx
Wouldn't it?! We were going to have so many meetups this year and we've not had one yet ๐ช Isabel Trail seems a small lifetime ago at the moment. I would say it could be a target, but you have your main target to go for so I don't want to pressure you - just get back out there again! ๐ค
Just keep checking in here (I haven't been on here as much as I'd have liked recently either to be honest) and you know we'll help to keep that fire stoked. Also remember all those reasons why you did it before? I know they always keep me going!
We're all ok thank you, I hope you and yours are ok too.
(and I've just realised it's two years yesterday that I graduated! ๐ฑ)
Happy 2nd Runniversary TC ๐๐ค must be mine coming up very soon too then! Wonder if subconsciously that's partly why I'm starting over?? Hmmm ๐ค When you do eventually have your VRB meet ups they'll be even more special ๐ I am hopeful about Isabel Trail ๐ฆ๐โโ๏ธ๐ฆ And we are also well thanks X
Welcome back. I am sure it will be straight forward to go through the process again. You know exactly what is coming next, after all. Getting through C25K and beyond is all about forming a habit and sticking with it no matter how hard it gets, so try to build something you can sustain, 1 run at a time.
Awwww Flara, you will be back 100%, I have every faith in you! Lives take different turns and obviously yours didnโt allow running to slot in. But youโre super tenacious and you know how C25K works, so we look forward to welcoming you back before too long. โค๏ธ
If youโre dallying with MJ, say hi from me wonโt you? ๐
Awww Cheeky!๐ค Hello!! And thank you ๐ Alas, I've chosen Sarah "pet" Millican again as my mentor - but I'll keep a look out for MJ and will give him a wink from you if I see him ๐ Hope you are well, I dread to think what stage the Cheeky running machine has reached! Marathon?? X
About 2 years ago we were on the same week in our journey to 5k. Now get off that flarkin couch and go strut it. I remember the purple hippo, flarkin dizzee rascal . Getting us to meet to run with the legendary old floss, have you still got my flannel by the way. I have proper missed you. I will be watching and kicking ass if needs be.
Oh my days!! You do make me laugh RR with your gentle nurturing ways ๐๐๐ Hadn't realised how much I've missed you! And yes I've still got that flannel ๐ x
Hey you... so good to hear from you and yes, you will be back.. the Isabel Trail has been closed for months and months, ( floods,) well before Lockdown.... maybe when you are back it will be open again and we can all run it together again!
Starting over is something we have, many of us, done.. and it is hard..but it can be fun.... take care of yourself my friend... and take it.... now what is the phrase.... SLOW and STEADY xxxx
Right what more do you need than the support of all those folks who are sending you loads of love. Dust off the black beauty track and back at it. Go Flara ๐ฆ
Hi Flara, good luck starting back on the c25k trail. I will be joining you in a couple of weeks after seven months on the IC with an achillies/foot injury...
I dearly and deeply feel for you my friend. I'm kinda in the same boat as you are. I did C25K a year ago completed and learnt a lot about myself and totally fell in love with it. At the ending stages I became a where that something was coursing me pain and really starting to niggle me but tried to shrug it off but the pain wouldn't go. Finished my 9 weeks and a few more consolidation runs and couldn't physically do it anymore. I had torn one of my glute muscles, right butt cheek and now the pain with realy silly strong medication and i mean a lot of it as well, wouldn't touch the pain. Nearly a year resting it now. Had a little jock round our back garden with the little ones 3 weeks ago and the pain has come back in force. I'm like you. Really really upset that something that was meant to be so good and life changing for the better has personally proper messed me up from a sport I had grown to love. I hope you do get back to the dream you once had my friend. All the very best and stay well and safe x
Hi flara flarkin well done you! I clicked on your old posts and saw a comment you made about running should be on prescription! So all demons behind / go for it! Iโve had two weeks off with a pain in my heel but rested and now plan to start on Monday !! Happy running everyone!
That's great news! You have a real fighting spirit and positivity and will be flying along in no time! My running has been quite sporadic this year but I have been doing C25K with my 15yr old son and although he's way faster than me, I enjoy the structure and shorter runs.
Hi Flaraflarkin great hear from you again and to see your not giving up and have a great attitude. Itโll be fab to hear from you some more as your C25K journey continues. Enjoy your new challenge. And enjoy your running
