Running gently with shin splints

The internet says rest shin splints until the pain has gone. It only hurts when I run, so how do I know of the pain has gone unless I run??

So we did a gentle slow run with some walking when we felt like it, finishing with a slightly faster run just to see how it went. It was ok but I could start to feel that tell-tale burn that says if I had tried to go much further I would regret it.

I also saw a challenge on Facebook yesterday that said do a wall sit in your kitchen every time you boil the kettle. My conclusion from this is that the kettle take a long time to boil, and that I drink way too much tea! My thighs were a little stiff this morning.

So after my gentle run I went to the fridge to prepare a nice healthy lunch. Unfortunately there happened to be a tray of donuts in there on top of the healthy stuff 😂

Great run and your lunch looks lovely with an added doughnut, yum.

Don't know if you've tried this before but I've shared it with a few on here😊🐕

Love the idea with the wall sit - really made me laugh! Good luck with your recovery and beware the lurking doughnuts. 😆

Check online for exercises to help with shin splints. Walking on your heels with toes up off the floor helps to stretch the front of calves. Ice pack also. Up and down on trippy toes one leg at a time.
