Sorry I haven’t been around for a while. I had to take an enforced break for a couple of months because of an eye operation and I’m shocked at how much it’s affected my running! I felt so slow and unfit when I tried! How do I build myself up again to where I was? Do I go back to the start of couch to 5 k or can I jump in at a later stage? I was on the treadmill too which felt strange to me as I always run outside. I really want to get back to feeling good when I run 😩
Update - I managed week 5 run 3 and it felt good! I could have gone longer so will just do a little bit more each time until I’m back to where I was! Thanks for all the advice. I was in a different mindset this time I think! I started slow and pretty much stayed slow 😁

Having the operation and everything that goes with it is bound to have an impact on your running. Huge respect for posting and getting right back into it. Perhaps start with a week you are comfortable with on C25k and before long you will be back on form?
Welcome back to running! I bet you'll enjoy it again when you've found the week in c25k that suits you now, & you can work up slowly & get back where you were eventually- but the important thing is the enjoyment of it, so don't push yourself too hard & miss that enjoyment. Good luck!
On many of my runs at the moment I just go for a run. Sometimes it becomes 2 ½k sometimes 10k but that way I've gone out and succeeded. How about trying that, no pressure just find a nice spot like a park and go for a run. If you find it was too short, great, you know you can go further next time. Happy running
I agree with Grannyhugs . Take the pressure off and run what you can manage, preferably somewhere lovely and distracting - the joy will soon come back. You've done the difficult bit by being determined to get back out there.
Hi Alison how long have you been out of running. It’s it’s only been a couple months do you think you would have a go from W6R3 which I think is a 25 mins run. If not maybe W5R3 which is 20 mins run. I don’t think you need to go back any more than this if you reached 10K before .
Thanks. It is just a couple of months! I’m thinking you are right and I will try W5R3 and see how that goes. I hope I can still manage 20 minutes. I know I’ve done it already so I will get back there even if I do struggle. Will report back as to how it goes 🤞🙂
I think you’ll be fine. I would say start at W6R3, 25 mins xx Remember if it gets too much, take it slow and if that’s still not helping go slower! The C25k mantra right 👍
