I hoisted myself from the warmth of bedland, breakfast was served by the eldest teen-ager ( lift to school bribery π₯΄)
With the snow getting thicker and heavier, I was tempted to boil the kettle again. But I promised my legs that'd I'd take them out, so out they went. Wrapped up like I was going on an artic adventure, and taking tentative steps on my warm-up I opted for the towpath, far safer to slip into a wet canal than get covered in wet spray off the passing vehicles. Hey this wet white running malarkey is kinda nice, leaving a breath trail like the flying Scotsman I merrily chugged along and weirdly my 5k came up at 29.50 well that was that, hammer down I thought noooooo surely I won't be quicker π€ my shiny new brooks trainers were getting dirtier with every step, and soggy socks yakkkkkk, but well done brooks these trainers drain water as fast as they fill up and they stay comfy!!!!
I nearly got the layers wrong and was getting a little warm by the last couple of klms but it's still a learning curve.
58.51 heck I'll take that kinda glad I never boiled that kettle again.........
Thanks buddy it's like Scottish weather has slid downhill and landed in Wales π enjoy your weekend, two days off after tonight's shift and let the trainers dry for Monday's outing π
Well done on getting out despite the the weather ...and for not slipping in to the canal! Fab time too! πͺπ
Thanks SandraJ I'm not gonna lie, that was a gruelling run through the weather at times. I now need to work on stepping up my distance. I regularly run either 5ks or 7.5 or 10 ideally I like to get towards HM distance of that's not too big an ask π
Well done. Thatβs a really great time especially in this weather. Iβm currently contemplating whether to do park run this morning. Think it might be more of a park swim π³
Wow amazing time in the snow! I went out Thursday in the snow and it was like running in deep sand - lots of hills were an interesting experience! Very exhilarating
