Hi, I haven't posted for a long time. I started C25K July 2018, it took me 27 weeks to achieve it, pulled muscles, achilles tendon injuries etc., if it hadn't been for finding this forum and following all the advice I would never have made it.
Last March, on my fifth Parkrun I injured my achilles tendon, it took 20 weeks to heal, with the help of ultra sound and kind advice from 'Old Floss", Roseabi" and "Tbae". August I start C25k again but missing out several runs until I reached week 7 mid September. I had been gardening, on my knees a lot for long periods of time. My knees were hurting the next day but thought a gentle run would help, Big Mistake! out of action then until mid October but even then just on a cross trainer! Eventually I start C25k from week 5 until eventually reaching R3W9, Consolidation runs follow then I decided to start JU-JU's Magic 10, a couple of weeks before the actual start date of her latest plan. I am happy to say I completed it Tuesday morning, despite gale force winds which slowed me down so much I could have walked faster, but I was determined to keep running! It was slow, very slow, but I did it! I wanted to do the Monsal trail half Marathon this month, after reading Old Floss's inspirational account last year, but that is not to be, however, I now have a year to train ready for next year in time for my 75th Birthday๐ค
I would like to thank all you wonderful people who continue to inspire and motivate us especially Old Floss, Ju-Ju, Roseabi and all the administrators, and everyone who reads these posts and take the time to offer advice and encouragement. Can I have my Graduation Badge please?
