Sleet and windy conditions for 8k

When I went to bed last night frosty conditions were on the way so I thought I’ll check it out at 7 and see if it’s ok to run first thing. 7.30 am arrived no frost but light rain. Off I went in my running gear, the light rain turned to sleet, the wind whipped up and the canal where I run had huge puddles along the path, I decided to run through them in the end as it was muddier to the side- if I was 5 again I would be in my element, and then I thought at over 62 I can still enjoy the puddles too! I kept going as the lady in Strava gave out the distances the sleet got heavier, the wind stronger but when she said you have now completed 8k in 1hour and 9 minutes I was thrilled I’d kept an average of 8.28 per k ( yes slow compared to most people’s running) I loved my run, looked like a drowned rat then enjoyed a glass of water, banana and hot shower on my return - what a day to complete this weeks Ju-Ju’s Magic plan! Fantastic

We are never too old to jump in muddy puddles 🤣 but running 8K in rain sleet & wind takes commitment, so WELL DONE 👏🎈 Enjoy your post run glow!
