Running in all weathers

The last few runs have bought various challenges but I've managed to continue with running outside through sun, wind, ran and sleet!

Last week my long run was a few hours before the snow arrived and I had a few amused looks from passers by as a I battled a strong wind and then icy rain. It was exhilarating though and as usual I felt amazing afterwards but was shocked to see that areas of my arms and legs were lobster red and looked sunburnt, making my relaxing bath mire uncomfortable than I hoped for.

This week I did a short run in the dark with my partner in rain that was light to begin with but quite heavy by the end and we were soaked, he runs less than me and I was quite impressed that I was controlling my breathing but he was out of breath towards the end.

Yesterday I planned my longest run. I was worried the weather may be stormy but it was lovely and I ran both ways along the river with few people around, a fasted run with just water and a cup of tea beforehand- 12.5K in 1hour 20 which I'm really chuffed with. 😁

Parkrun tomorrow then a short run Sunday as I put off today's run due to some pretty windy conditions here which I thought may blow me over!

Happy running everyone πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Nice runs CH. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ You’re definitely on the ball.

Me, not so much. Did my 8k on Monday which was good, had my gait analysis on Tuesday, did a tiny 0.90k treadmill run yesterday (was meant to be 4k but I had to vacate the machine as a class was about to start) and today’s wind put me right off and I was also short on time. Tomorrow I’m volunteering at PR, so will try to run the course afterwards if I’m not frozen to the marrow and/or blown away. Otherwise it’ll be Sunday. Argghh, what a week - and I have new trainers itching to get out too! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Thanks CH. had fun volunteering in the hoolacious (if that’s a word!) wind, and I was able to go for a lovely 5k afterwards in my new trainers, which felt awesome! πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€

Certainly varied CH! That 12.5k and time is very impressive - particularly on those rations. I managed a 10K PB yesterday (1.00.56) which I was pleased with. Enjoy parkrun tomorrow. πŸ˜€

Wow. 12.5k in that time πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘. That’s amazing especially as the weather has not been kind this week. As I am still feeling quite a fledgling I am just in awe of all the running and distances. Just amazing.

Thanks Wimborne, but you're no fledgling, it sounds like you're doing some pretty good distances yourself. 😁
