10.5k! So proud of myself!

I last posted on healthunlocked 11 months ago when I was struggling to run for longer than 20 minutes. Well since then I completed C25k, treated myself to a Garmin, signed up to the Great Bristol 10k in May 2020 and today ran 10.5k! The extra half k is because I got lost in the dark on the cycle path ๐Ÿคช I never would have thought that in less than a year I would have doubled my distance. It makes me feel way more confident about maybe running the half marathon in September. I'm not sure what I can treat myself to when I already have a Garmin! Might save the treats for when I get my 10k time down to an hour ๐Ÿ˜

Hi and massive congratulations thatโ€™s some run well done, feel very proud of yourself. By May the 10k will seem like a normal achievable distance. Great for planning that half marathon training next. Happy running

Congratulations and very well done. I havenโ€™t done 10K since November. I have a 10K coming up at the end of April. I need to get training for that. So your well ahead of me already.

Once you have a Garmin watch to track pace and distance etc you donโ€™t need anything else other than good running shoes and good running socks.

Rather than treat myself to running gear I treat myself to breakfast after parkrun with running buddies or I treat myself to doing a different parkrun.
