So where to start? Thankyou to linda9389 , Cmoi and TailChaser for all your hard work putting this together.
I've been struggling a bit with my running recently . Covid recovery put paid to any ideas of a half marathon so 10k was just right.
I'm not brilliant with the tech so I ran a test 2k yesterday using the Rungo test 1k, HUSpotify playlist and Mr Garmin. All seemed OK except Rungo lost me when I ran into the park and only found me when I came back out ... note to self-avoid the park tomorrow when doing the 10k.
This morning I was so excited. Sorted the tech and off I went -avoiding the park I set off for the virtual Vancouver 10k. After a few minutes minutes I lost the Rungo "chat" again ( in a different place than yesterday ) so I was transported back to the streets of my own town -but that's ok they are friendly streets! I ran on happily with Mr Garmin and the brilliant HU playlist . Finally Mr Garmin bleeped for 10k at 1:07:18.
It was by no mean my fastest 10K but is my best time since covid so things are definitely improving and, more importantly, it was really lovely to run with the feeling that I had loads of VRBs keeping me company! Thank you π
(Ps Mr Garmin took 1 point off my VO2 max but has left my fitness age slightly below the age of my eldest child so I will forgive him this time !)

Ooo I haven't looked to see what my V02MAX is I bet it docked me a point as well. Fantastic run and your time amazes me, I didn't get the Rungo chat either
Thankyou.Sounds like you had a good run too. I think I will try the Rungo again and hopefully the HM one too once I get back there again-I enjoyed the commentary it so much last time I did HU 10k!
Covid has a lot to answer for, there's so many of us with similar tales of lost running time & fitness...let's hope it continues to dwindle! π€
The only upside is that I feel it makes us realise we can't take out health for granted & we start to enjoy & appreciate our runs even more than ever π
Thank you. You are right , it was actually during the first lockdown that I took up running. I think it made me realise just how much we need to look after ourselves. I was also very lucky that vaccinations meant my case was very mild in comparison .
Good to see you on the mend Week7 π So glad the playlist is proving so popular, I was listening to it in the garden this afternoon, itβs just so nice and varied.
Thanks.Yes the playlist was great. Yesterday's trial with the first few tunes had me running and giggling around the park to Chariots of Fire!Today I was more restrained - but thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue to use in future runs.
Congratulations! So glad to hear things are improving for you. Hopefully you will soon be back to where you were pre Covid. It may be worth checking the Rungo settings on your phone to make sure it 'stays awake' when it runs in background mode. Often the default is for apps to go to sleep after a couple of minutes of running in the background. That should hopefully fix the problem. We won't be deleting the soundtrack (the Edinburgh 10k is still there from a couple of years ago too!).
The tech is great until it isn't! Well done on that run. Those post covid runs can be a bit tricky can't theyAgree with all the comments on the playlist. Pity about the really annoying adverts on the free version of Spotify though.
