Enjoying myself too much

So today was the start of my 2nd week on ju-ju- 's 10 is the Magic Number 10K plan. I had already worked out where I was going and planned meticulously my route to run my required 3.5K.

I got up and the snow on the ground and in the air was a tad disturbing but after taking my daughter to the bus in the car and testing the ground I realised it was not at all slippery so headed out about 30 minutes later ... just as said daughter called me.

Spurred on by the comforting words about being able to hold a conversation I decided to take the call and run at the same time. The first 2K with her in my ear and my doing a lot of the talking was faster than when she finished the call! Not sure what the says whether it was distraction or just my usual unable to maintain any pace - not that I was trying as this was meant to be the short/slow/recovery type run for the week.

Having got home and perused my stats on Strava and Mr Garmin I suddenly realised that I should have been doing 3K and the 3.5K was meant to be next week!! Doh! Must engage brain when planning my runs in future!!

you can just take .5k off the next run as it's meant to be distance total for the week.

I was wondering that given the whole 10% rule. Makes my midweek run a 4.5K instead of a 5K - If I remember!!

It started off with a gentle flurry then turned into a blizzard for 5 mins but then ended up very nice, sunny and peaceful.

Well done, and I’m impressed you managed to hold a conversation and run, I’ve never done this very well, and certainly not if I’m pushing myself..... good work.
