I went for a parkrun this morning and weather got horrible just as we were waiting on the start line - strong winds, torrential rain and even hail stones for next 30min!! Even before we started my hands were numb from cold...And then when I finished the skin on my knees and tights was numb from cold and rainπ₯Άπ΅ But somehow I broke my PBπ! No idea how!?
I thought I was so hardcore and pleased with myself until I got home and was 'told off' by my partner how irresponsible I was to be running in such a weatherπ€ And he's normally very supportive... but as he said he was worried about our children not meπ€
On the bright side - I'm at the hairdresser having my hair done π€π

Congratulations on that PB, in a sort of way you were running faster to get out of that nasty weather, I didn't go to parkrun today for that very reason but did manage a run between the showers.
I am sure your partner will give you a cuddle when you come back from the hairdresser with a new hair doπ
The weather was ok until 9.30. I was expecting rain and wind but not to that extend! I'd have most likely stayed at home tooπ
When I was running I kept thinking about the books I recently read about running - the mental and physical struggle runners go through and it really helped with my attitude. Especially 'This girl run' by Helen Croydon - fab description of overcoming boundaries and struggles!
Congratulations on your parkrun pb. I understand your partner's concerns. My husband used to say ' you're not going out running in that' and I would . So now he doesn't even ask . π
Itβs parkrun on those days that makes you stronger and appreciate the nice warmer spring days to come. Very well done on your PB. I did some parkrun tourism yesterday and the last 1K was a steep uphill climb into a 60 mph headwind. Thankfully it was dry.
