Morning you lovely lot...first, i must apologise for my neglectful ways over the last couple of weeks, I have been running, albeit brief, but much needed escapism from the mental state December gets itself into!! i know it’s a bit late but..Merry Christmas, I hope you’ve all had a good one. I have, of course, been lurking and have to say the dedication you all seem to have, even through the busiest time of the year has kept me going and inspired me to put down the sellotape, get into my running gear and enjoy the calm all by myself!! Anyway, talking of dedication, at the beginning of the year I set myself a goal of earning a medal a month by participating in virtual runs. The runs I have entered have all been for charity and the entry fees are anywhere between £13 and £20, so, although the amounts are small, added up its a decent amount. I feel lucky to be able to run and love sharing my journey with all of you on here so I thought I would show you the bling I’ve earned over the last 12 months... They’re not the same as running with others, they were little challenges i set myself by choosing distance etc but I am still proud that I have completed the goal i set this time last year.
I just want to say thank you to Admin for giving me the opportunity to join their team, I love my new ‘job!’ and a massive WELL DONE to all of you who have graduated 5/10k, run a marathon, run for 60 mins or you’re just starting out, whatever you have achieved this year is amazing and i have loved reading all about it, you’ve made me laugh, smile, cry (happy tears) and inspired me to get out of the door when i least felt like it and reassured me when i’ve had my doubts. (I’ll stop now before it turns into an Oscars speech!!!)
I want to wish you all a very happy new year, I’m heading down to Cornwall so will be doing a bit of tourist running by the sea and I can’t wait.
Lets all continue to share our stories whatever they are....sending you all my best wishes for 2020.
Happy running xxxx

than you BBR...here’s hoping that you are back to 100% very soon...you have helped me so much and cheered me on all the way, I can hear you you know!! I’m looking forward to running near the sea again x Happy new year to you too my lovely friend xxx
Happy holidays Mummycav and enjoy your tourist runs. I think your new job has not only helped people on the forum but also done you the world of good. Keep on keeping on.
Thank you Dexy5 , I’m looking forward to running by the sea again, we went to Northumberland last new year and it was lovely. Being part of the admin team on here has certainly helped me to stay focussed.
Thanks Grannyhugs , I’m a bit pleased with bling, it’s been good for motivating me, I think i’m going to do the same again but maybe up my targets and make myself work a bit harder. Happy new year to you too xx
Nothing wrong with upping targets, dont let my son in law know I said that, he wants me to aim for ½marathon. Think i need to consolidate 5 and 10k at least for 6 months 😉
What a lovely set of bling you have there💕. Best of luck to you in 2020 and whatever challenges you decide to smash. Because we know you will smash them. Whoohoo!
Thanks SaskAlliecat , I’ve enjoyed receiving a bit of bling through the post once a month!! I’m going to do the same this year but push myself a bit more. Have a wonderful new year xx
Thank you Jell6 . We went to Cornwall for a week at Easter about 4 years ago and it was really lovely...but now I’m a runner and i think i will see it in a different light this time. We’re going to Portreath, apparently where Doc Martin is filmed? Happy new year to you xxx
Well done for completing your challenges and keeping yourself going - what a fab idea! I might just head over to a virtual running website later for more inspiration. Have a lovely time running by the sea and a wonderful 2020! 🌊🏃🏼♀️🎉
Thank you Slinkymalinki , I would def recommend virtual running, it’s a great motivator and who doesn’t like a bit of bling?!!! Enjoy you running in 2020 x
Thanks. Yes, I've only done one virtual run before as well as the 'running down dementia' challenge soon after graduating. I get so crazy busy with work I don't plan ahead enough so maybe I should start! Portreath is lovely, it'll be a real tonic for you all and worth the long (ish) journey. x
Wonderful post, and wow those medals are amazing, and you have done so well to earn them. Have an amazing time in Cornwall, I’m loving my time here and my fave place to run..l. Enjoy Xx
Aw, Ju, I know you love running there and I don’t blame you...I’ve been on google maps today sussing out some running routes!! I can feel some contented running coming on and yes, my medals are a bit fab aren’t they?! xxx
Lovely post and lovely pile of bling. 🎉👍 It’s a great idea, your monthly charity run, and inspiring for me as Life doesn’t easily let me sign up for a specific group event. Virtual sounds more possible, and I’m going to have a look.
Happy Runnny Year for 2020, and have loadsafun in Cornwall. 🏃🏼♀️😄And thanks for all you do in cheering everyone onwards, day by day. 👏🏼💕
