Only I'm soooooo chuffed. This time last year, I had completed a 5k for the first time...in 38 minutes.
About 10 weeks ago, a friend challenged me to do 10k. So I took up the challenge. Ran my first 10k race in 1:12:39, 5 weeks ago. It was a flat course, but the heat was brutal. I thought I was going to die.
Today, I ran the Dublin 10k Rock n Roll. It is an undulating course. The atmosphere is brilliant, with live bands playing every mile. Amazing!
Anyway, I came in at 1:11:40. And 8th out of 38 in my age group. Yeaaaah!
The bling is amazing (yea I'm shallow like that). If you ever fancy running a course that is sooo much fun - and draws an international crowd, this is surely the one to do.

Oh yes, I crow about my successes β - but I also make a point of flagging up my failures βΉοΈ, as I think itβs important that people realise that the odd crap run doesnβt mean you should give up π
Congratulations, well done and great time too. Hope you had time for a look at Dublin too, itβs such a young vibrant city and the bars are just the best. Youβve inspired me to crack on with some serious 10K training. Thankyou Teresa, may your running be blessed with joy.
I dont live that far from Dublin, and have been to the city many times. Though this is the first time I've run in it. It is truly a magical place isn't it. Maybe you'll do next years Rock n Roll run, it is well worth it
