Well instead of my first Christmas running it looks like I'll be having Christmas on the ic. I've been having a bit of trouble with my knee lately, only running once a week but generally feeling ok when I get going. On Saturday I tweaked my knee slightly at the tip (oh the glamorous life I lead), decided it was no different from the recent slight discomfort and went out for a run in the sunshine. Wrong! I had to abandon the run and limp home and now my knee is so sore that even walking is difficult. So I'm off down to my sons for Christmas week, not taking my running gear and just trying to resign myself to taking it slowly. With luck it will improve with rest and if not I'll have to find a physio. I really don't want to lose my hard earned running fitness! Aargh.

Poor you and at this time of year too but on the bright side there will hopefully be plenty of Christmas cheer to distract you. Have a great time with your family. Speedy recovery. Merry Christmas and a happy healthy running new year
Thank you! I'm sure I'm not the only one. Just feeling rather cross with myself at the moment! I'll have to let out go and have a good time!
Sorry to read this - so frustrating! Sounds like a good plan to rest up over the next week and reassess after Christmas. Hopefully it will settle soon. 🤞🙂
That’s such a shame Gwenllian but I’m sure you’re doing the right thing in resting up. Think of the positives- less packing! I hope your knee gets better quickly and that you’re back out there soon! Have a lovely time with your family!
Sorry to read that. It will be a good excuse to sit down and put your leg up and let the others look after you!
So sorry to hear this. I bet lots of us won’t do much running over the Christmas holiday, I’m sure you’re right to rest too. Fingers crossed that will sort it 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I’m so sorry, can you do any other exercise to keep your fitness up? Do get it seen to and I hope you heal very soon.
Take care!
Hey I hope you are Ok. Sorry to hear about your knee. There are knee strengthening exercises you can look up on the NHS website, the aim being to make your knees stronger, maybe you can look at that once you've recovered and sought advice on it at the moment.
Enjoy the holidays and your knees get a little rest too.
