So, I hurt the inside of my knee, a few weeks ago now, the bone hurts and it’s numb on the outside, of course I googled it, scared myself silly and carried on, limping and grimacing and grumbling. But not running.
Fast forward to yesterday and I really think this knee is healing, I’m on few days holiday from work and usually I run every day when not working but walks and a swim and I’m determined not to do further damage.
Today was favourite beach day and a walk to the sand dunes,
We watched a swimmer who was going on and on and on, a black dot kept appearing behind her, I thought she was wearing flippers, she turned and the black dot was further away than the longest legs, she swam a bit closer to shore and Oh My Word!!! she was being followed by a seal. I waded out with my phone, took some photos and then the swimmer gave me her number to send them, we both swam and every so often the seal popped up between us, it was the absolute best experience.
So, no running involved but maybe a short try out to see how the knee is tomorrow
Run happy or rest well

Wow!!!! You have exciting times... but that knee...ouch! Dr Google is very scary...do not visit him again!Hope it feels better tomorrow... xxx
PS
Seals are very much bigger and a tad scarier than you imagine when they are next to you in the sea... and when you are not wearing your glasses either...
You are right there, but so beautiful the closest I was I’d put my phone away as was too deep in the sea. I love doctor google…. he makes me laugh and laugh…. having a hospital pharmacist brings me back to earth though, when I tell her what doctor google says I’ve got she laughs and laughs too 🤣🤣🤣
The knee is so much better and I will run very carefully, I’m a bit tired of this IC as I’m back to work on Thursday
Hope you get out today... the rain has just stopped here...but I am just finishing my antibiotics this morning, so am going to ease back until I feel really back on form. Some gentle strength work this morning!Yes, it must help having someone who knows the facts to bring you back to reality! xxx
My daughter is so knowledgeable, when I read about my mouth operation, all about breathing tubes and feeding tubes she laughed and laughed, when the hospital paperwork said bring nightwear and slippers she laughed and said i’d be home in time for tea, when I said a tremor in my head was parkinson’s and a numbness on the inside of the knee is MS she laughed some more and took me out to run around with the dog, but apart from the scary mouth op I don’t believe a word of google , including how the expensive face cream and vitamins will make me look young again 😀 xx
Poor knee! I was missing your running posts. Oh well, we know these things happen from time to time and I'm glad it's healing! Capturing a photo of a seal is amazing!
Oh wow how fabulous! We have seals come in to breed near us from Oct and there is approx 1700 pups each year, and occasionally in my birthday in Jan, we've seen one swimming on our beach walk, but never seen anyone swim with one!
Re your knee, I'm sure you're careful, the body is good at adapting as you know, but you don't want it to then affect somewhere else.
Thank you, the knee is doing ok thanks and I am being careful. There’re seals not far from where we are but I’ve never seen on so close up, the lady swimming impressed me so much as she swam really well for ages, being in the water with a seal was the highlight of my time off, like a real holiday 😀
Sorry to hear about your knee but so pleased it’s feeling better! That Dr. Google can be very alarming. What a wonderful thing to be swimming with a seal. I’m not so keen on the sea, but even this would have me sploshing about a bit! 😁😁😁
It was the best day ever, oh yes google does that regularly 😂😂😂but I’ve learned to not take a lot of notice, my knee is holding up well but i must have done some damage as psoriasis flared on the inside of my leg from below knee to thigh patches of spots that itch and hurt which explains the numbness and tingling
