After enjoying doing 13 park runs, I thought it time to step up. I put my name forward and was nominated tail. Had they looked at my run times😩. They provided me with a lions tail and my furry hat, I looked the part. It was lovely, everyone thanking me. “Thanks tail”. Bringing them all home. I will do it again. Best bit, I get credited with a run, 59.43! And a credit for volunteering. So win win. I ran on Monday for 50 mins so I better do that again to make up for today’s walk/jog.
I encourage all participants of Park Runs, give back, if it wasn’t for the volunteers, there would be no park run.
It’s nice observing other people’s running stiles.
All in all a lovely time, because I did the steps, I still get to have an almond croissant.😳

Hurray! Well done hi vis hero! 👏, we love you, as you say parkrun wouldn’t exist without volunteers, and yes, tail walker is one of my faves, getting a run and a volunteer credit, plus you get to encourage everyone!
Sounds good I might try trail walker next. I’ve volunteered twice before as a Marshall- I’d rather run but think it’s important to take my turn volunteering - each week they need to should for volunteers at my park run. It would be nice if more people did it. I love that you get credited with a run if you tailwalk
I quite often volunteer at Junior Parkrun. They need lots more marshals than regular parkrun. Plus, you can run on a Saturday then marshal on a Sunday.
