Since being able to run longer distances and still running 3 times a week, I noticed that my toe was bleeding yesterday after a 7k run. First time it happened.. it was a pleasant surprise as I never noticed any discomfort whilst running and I always wondered how runners coped with blisters.. now I know. It’s not about coping, it’s just that they don’t bother us. Ha ha. I will look at getting a better pair of trainers now though.
Not bothered by the blisters: Since being able... - Bridge to 10K
Not bothered by the blisters
Never had blisters from running but Compeed is what you need
Competed, new shoes and socks. Happy running
Hi Hidden ...I haven't had blisters yet, but how tough are you??!!! You are a proper runner if you have blisters and don't even notice?!!! Maybe with a new pair of trainers you wont get any? Fingers crossed
Heat and moisture intensify friction by causing your feet to swell. Blisters commonly pop up during races or long runs when mileage is increased and friction occurs without intervention. Your body responds to this friction by producing fluid, which builds up beneath the skin that's being rubbed..
Even the word blister makes me cringe. You are indeed made of tough stuff if yours didn’t bother you. 😩
There are multiple reasons you get them, so yes checking out your trainers and socks would be the way to go to avoid the the pesky things in future.
If you feel a blister coming on, stick a compede on it.
