Can't be bothered!! πŸ˜‰

So glad I didn't go for a run yesterday.

I knew that yesterday was going to be a busy day so the conclusion was either a quick 5k or no run. I opted for the latter. To be honest I was feeling tired and thought another rest day would do me good. My heart just wouldn't have been in it.

I went out to pick my Mum up to come over to watch the wedding with us and en route saw a number of runners bounding along. The more I watched them, the more my desire to run increased.

So this morning I set out invigorated and enthused on a slightly new route to do another 10k. I am trying to do a 10k every 2 or 3 weeks to keep the distance in my legs.

The route today did not involve a climb up a hill and nor did it include a railway bridge .. no .. today's run was flat .. not quite as a pancake πŸ₯ž but close to it. After the last few runs have left my throat dry and suffering from a repetitive dry cough I had the foresight to go out with a bottle of water .. so glad as I needed it. I guess that's one problem of breathing through my mouth!

I made sure that my outbound leg was more than 5k so that there was no way of ducking out of the intended distance. Loads of other runners and cyclists were enjoying the same route and there were plenty of friendly hello/good morning/waves going on which was nice.

All in all an enjoyable run, a bit easier than the previous 10s I have done but still tough going especially in the heat of the morning. It was good to go out wanting to run rather than needing to! Happy running everyone.

Great run, Richard. I like the idea of doing 10k every two or three weeks to keep it in your legs. Good idea as othwrwise it starts to feel almost accidental.

Not always the case. I think sometimes people are so engrossed in what they are doing but this morning's lot were very friendly πŸ˜€
