Post tumble tumble run!

Well it was a great success - I stayed upright! I must also confess that for the first time since I started this malarkey over 18 months ago is really seemed to find my inner 🐌. I realised that I’ve previously only have one speed - go for it! - but today because of recent falls, pulled muscle in my back (due to a lingering cough) and potentially slippery conditions I decided to try S . . L . . O . . W. I’ve tried before but not managed it! 🤣. This time my breathing was - well silent!! Usually worry I’ll frighten walkers as I gasp past them. It’s also partly because my garmin stats were showing I was running in the red zone for 90% of my run (I told you I was going for it!). Today I was only red for 3 mins! So it was an easy run and probably my slowest 5k ever. I’d call that a success

Brilliant effort so pleased you stayed upright. Garmin stats are not good when you want to run fast🤔 here's to continued trip free slow running and lowered HR 🏃‍♀️🙆‍♀️👍

Yes 🤞🏻 I was afraid I’d be timid but in fact it was fine - just a shame 2 runs in a row went wrong. Onward I go!

Yes real success it’s good to run and breath silently

A strange occurrence for me but definitely an improvement.

We slowed right down because Willow had knee pain and hobbled home several times and looking back our slow gentle jog is way faster than our first few runs where we were puffing badly,

Strange isn’t it! My knees are fine - apart from one skinned and one bruised!! 🤣🤣 FYI a bruised knee is WAY more painful but today I remembered what fun it is to pick scabs off (yes, I know!)

Ha ha ha at scabs, i can relate i have psoriasis and my hands and feet peel every week or so, i shall leave that bit of gross info to your imagination, a lot of hoovering gets done in this house

A bruised knee is very painful so it’s great you can still run

I have recently come down with guttate psoriasis having never had it in my 61 years. Tsk! Scab central here. Sigh

Have you been referred to a skin clinic? i had to see doctor because i couldn’t walk so was off work

misswobbleGraduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

Yes. Got lots of lotions but none have worked so far Light therapy has been mentioned but there’s a long waiting list

Good luck with it, the best i’ve found is to keep it moist and take loratadine when the itching drives me mad

Definitely a success . That's exactly how I'm trying to run on one of my runs . 😊

Good to mix it up (not a strength of mine up to now!). I should try that too 😆

I honestly found it really hard to slow down to run longer but the more I try the better it gets 😊

I’ve tried slower before and found I was nearly tripping myself up! Cracked it today though.

I’d call that success too Sybilw!! 🤗 There’s no harm in going for it, but I think there is so much to love about SLOW!! 🐌 ! ❤️

Sounds good to me...always best if you can try to keep your heart in your chest while you run 😆
