First run today for almost 2 weeks, we have had colds and still a bit blocked up and coughing but I turned the corner yesterday and no longer feel so ill.

We didn’t know how far we were going to run so set off along the river with no plan in place. Slow and steady, bright sunshine, cool breeze, leaves of colours green, gold, brown and red. The blackberries are over but the haws shine brightly in the sun, 1k done and I look round fully appreciating the wonders of our world and think of our virtual running buddies, those who were here but have now moved on, those who have hung up their running shoes, those who run faster and further, we all experience the joy of running. Cyclists, runners and dog walkers pass going the other way, some smile, some say hello and some don’t, a couple of dogs come up to me and sniff my hand as I stretch it out in greeting,

I’ve run 2.5k and realise I better turn round, I also realise I’m tiring so make the decision to jeff it back, I enjoyed every minute of that run.

Willow was relaxing in the car when I got back, he is a very happy man, he ran 1k in 8.29 then started coughing so turned and ran back slowly, he’s found the joy of being outside and running again.

Run happy or rest well and have fun if you are running this weekend. Pom poms are out for everyone racing

I'm glad you are both starting to feel better, it's odd how some colds can really make you feel awful when others are nowhere near as bad.

Lovely photos, you certainly look like you are really happy and enjoying yourself. The autumn colours are amazing at the moment.

Well done to you both 👍👍

Thank you, it was lovely but I’m off to work in an hour and wondering if the run was wise but I so wanted to get out again, yes colds are strange, we’ve had 2 really horrible ones but feeling ok in ourselves again

Glad to see you both feel better again, well done on your 4 km and Willow on his 1 km great time 8.29. You couldn’t wear shorts and vest like you have on in your picture, really cool up here, good picture of you Sola . A lot of rain here this morning and our rivers are back up to the levels so restrictions lifted of watering field etc.. have a good weekend 😊

oh wow!!! That is huge news that Willow found the joy of running again. And your 5k sounds awesome. Ran with you this morning, but I was with long sleeves and long leggings! 🤣🤣🥶

Awesome!

It was way too hot for long leggings and sleeves, good to know you were out there too
