Market Rasen parkrun 1st birthday, a PB and lots of cupcakes 🧁

I haven’t been to parkrun since Lyme Park for various reasons so I checked last night that Market Rasen was still on (it gets cancelled on race days!) and discovered it was their first birthday and a gazillion cakes were going to be there. It’s a nice open and fairly flat course and the scene of my first and, until today, only sub 30 parkrun. Loads of people in fancy dress (Only Fools and Horses themed!) - a couple of horses, a unicorn, several Del Boys and Rodneys, a couple of Batmen and Robins and one brave lady sporting a cardboard Trotters Independent van! For a change I started towards the front as there was plenty of room for the speedsters to get past. It felt like a good pace but not too tiring. Official time 29:32 knocking 24 seconds off my time in July, 98th out of 185 runners, age grading 62.48%. Having now lost 21lbs in the last 2 months must be making a difference. I cannot stop grinning. It wasn’t a fluke after all. Sadly not a 5k PB as Strava only recorded 4.98km darn it! The cupcake was delicious and I managed to get home just before the rain started. Hope your weekend has got off to an equally amazing start and happy running everyone πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Congratulations Sandie, a brilliant parkrun PB. Good to see your parkrun celebrated it in style too.

Forecast weather conditions down south meant many cancelled parkruns down here. I guess it was time we suffered like everyone else has the last few weeks, we are generally so lucky .

So looking forward to next week and hoping it will be a lovely day. Poppy shirts for us I think.

Nice run Sandie, you’re officially Very Fast, no fluke! And how appropriate to run a new PB on its first birthday too. Double celebration definitely warranted cake! πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‚ πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Boo for Strava!! I never use it; I just stick to Garmin time, so only have the occasional faux pas which are entirely my fault. Great run Sandie, you are on fireπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ‘
