Hi Got2Week7, please don't worry that somehow you are not acheiving enough...you absolutely are!😊💪An hours running is fantastic... and it matters not whether or not you take a walk break, every run you do is for you alone. No-one is judging you. Running for an hour will earn you your badge, so actually you did that yesterday.
There are no run police and whatever length of time/distance you find gives you the best experience is ok. You may find that changes with more running under your belt, you may not.
I have been enjoying my running since graduating over four years ago, after quite a long consolidation period I followed Ju Ju's Magic 10 plan. Now I run all different length runs as and when, doing 10k when I feel like it (with rests/walk breaks if I want them) and still find every run a fresh experience and something I look forward to.
You are not a wuss! As you ran for an hour yesterday, you really shouldn't run for an hour tomorrow, that would be overdoing it....
I hope this helps you, and I totally understand because I felt the same the first time I completed the magic plan.
Enjoy your running, your hour run yesterday is a brilliant acheivement!😊xx
Aw thanks so much. You’re totally right. I’ve become a bit fixated on the plan I suppose. I’ll do my 10K tomorrow and then chill a bit on the whole thing and start enjoying it a bit more. Thanks
I’m going to echo everything Bluebirdrunner said. 👍
You’re absolutely not a wuss! Think of the vast majority of the population that doesn’t/can’t/won’t run for even 5 minutes. You’re doing something amazing for yourself. If you truly find 60 minutes of running hard, see if you can embrace your inner snail and dial the pace back a bit. Hopefully it’ll make the whole experience more enjoyable and you can enjoy your surroundings and appreciate what you’re doing. 😀👍 You’re a fabulous runner, remember that. 👊
Thanx CCM. I am a snail already! Ha ha. I was passed out by a power walker once when I was doing C25K. Ha ha. Looking forward to my run tomorrow and taking in my surroundings. Thanks for the support. x
Don’t worry about needing the odd walk, there’s no right or wrong way of achieving 60 minutes (or 10k or anything else). As an older, niggle prone runner, I do any run over 5k with run / walk intervals. Lots of us do.
Hi, just do what you feel is right for you🙂 You can graduate now, or take some more time if you want to.
It’s totally up to you and no-one’s going to put any pressure on you here.😊You’re amongst friends and we all understand things can seem difficult from time to time. We’ve all been there too, honestly! Very best of luck with whatever you decide 😀👏👏👏
