How many of you will be joining me this Morning for a Parkrun? Good luck and enjoy! 😊
Parkrun day 17/08: How many of you will be... - Bridge to 10K
Parkrun day 17/08
I’ll be doing my seventh parkrun at Tredegar House in Newport this morning
Have a good one
I’m off to do a recce run for one I hope to set up. I’ll picture all you lovely runners around the world, and the future possibility that some of you may be parkrun tourists here one day soon. Happy parkrunning! Xxx
Thanks Lizzi, where are you setting up?
Uzès, in the Gard département of France. Hoping to get started in November if ever you’re visiting. (Or any other C25Kers of course.) X
My 47th parkrun this morning. Doing some parkrun tourism. I’ll be doing my NENDY (Nearest Event Not Done Yet) at Tyrrellstown parkrun in Dublin. Looking forward to it.
Now to try and get my 10 year old Son out of bed.

You’re close to your teeshirt Damien! 🏃🏃
Wow, just 3 more to go! Are you still motivated every Saturday morning after so many? Please tell me you are still buzzing after every run.
I adore it. I listen to parkrun podcasts during the week and leave my gear out the night before. I get up at 7am on Saturdays so as I have breakfast, coffee, water and Toilet done before going out the door.
Finished in 27:42 this morning and got 42 for my parkrun bingo and also got my 10th different parkrun done, so I’m now half way to being an official parkrun tourist. 😀 3 more to go to 50, then the countdown to 100 starts.

They cancelled my parkrun and I don’t have a car. I’m gutted as it’s the last chance I have till December to run up and enjoy my favourite time of the week. I hope to hear lots about everyone else’s Parkruns today to cheer me up though.
Ah no Brian sorry to hear that. What are you doing over the next few months which means you can’t enjoy parkrun?
Oh no BrianUK. Never mind, once December is here you can run one every weekend. In fact you can do 2 events in 1 day on New Years Day if you aren’t too hungover.
Thanks dexy. I can’t wait to get back here permanently. I think I could get to the Bognor PR after the Chichester one at Xmas. 😁 I’ll be making up for lost parkruns for sure and will hopefully meet up with some of my VRBs at some of them. 👍
I used this morning’s PR as a belated celebration of my C25K graduation runniversary which was actually last Saturday (I thought it was the 18th! 🤦♀️ 😅).
It was fun hearing MJ again - I jogged/ran the intervals instead of walking/jogging and my time was a only little bit slower than when my pace is consistent. One thing I know though, I covered lots more distance than my real W1R1! 🏃♀️🏃♀️
I still love when he suggests having a drink of water and a bite of banana at the end. I always used to thank him (out loud!) for the advice! Love MJ. ❤️
Hope your run was good today JaoJao. 😀
Well done cheekychipmunks! I remember when I graduated I couldn’t imagine not having Sarah Millican in my ear, but I weened myself off and try different things now on parkrun, meditation, music, silence... every week is different xx
I still do week 4 of C25K...once a week... I get to keep MJ and it's a really good interval session. I can also see my improvement, so it's good for motivation. 😁 Week 4 was my hardest week... it's nice to be reminded of how far you've come.
I was looking for your post cheeky. Glad you had a good run with MIchael Johnson. I might try and do the same with Jo Whiley one day as she was my VRB before I met you lovely lot. 😀
75th for me today. Marathon training and tired legs means I’m getting slower and slooowerr 🙄
Wow! Incredible parkrun count xx
I did my 15th volunteer stunt today, shaking a tambourine at the turning point. The runners loved it and were all very grateful to see me until they turned into the wind. Not as bad as last week though.
I had to have a week off so that certain important people can join me on my 50th run in 2 weeks time.
That’s a great idea to have a tambourine. Was that your own addition or something the parkrun does anyway? My mum and I are aiming for 25 volunteer stints together and that would be a great idea to do something like that!
I think it was over61andstilltrying who mentioned tambourines or bells at parkrun . Our marshals seem to be a bit quieter on the route than we’ve seen at other parkruns we’ve been to so I thought I’d try and show a new way. I bought the tambourine online, only around £10. It’s easier on the hands than clapping too.
It’s great that you and your mum want to volunteer; it gives back to a great organisation and to your own community.
41st at Portsmouth Lakeside for me - we had a wedding party taking part! The bride and groom were married yesterday, spent the night in a nearby hotel and started their honeymoon with a parkrun, trailing some empty cans! Now that's what I call dedication!😀
There’s no doubt it’s addictive.
Did my 19th volunteer. I will get my volunteer T-shirt long before my park running one!
I like to do alternate weeks running or volunteering as Sundays are the only days I can fit in a longer run at the moment, and volunteering is truly fabulous. I love being the timekeeper and cheering everybody over the line!
Hey Barrie so far I’ve done volunteer roles that allow me to parkrun at the same time, these are first timers briefing, token sorting and run reports. I would love to have a go at marshalling and finish token sorting, saving those for a rainy day or when I’m under the weather xx
