Lovely day for my 5th parkrun

Bit nippy this morning and wore a jacket first thing but decided to take it off before the run as I hoped I would warm up quickly enough not to need it.

The pack took off like a rocket today which took me by surprise and I didn't have time to get my breath. I made an effort to slow down, get my comfortable pace and ran really comfortably, then started passing the ones who pushed too hard, too early and were now walking!

I had a bit left to speed up for the last 0.5k and had a slightly faster time than the last parkrun, 29.03. Slightly disappointed not to be in the 28 minute area but still a new PB and 5th in my age category ๐Ÿ˜

Hope everyone has a fantastic running weekend ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

That's a good time Crawlhome, you certainly did not crawl on that run, any sub 30 minute 5k is nothing to be disappointed about.

Thanks AlMorr, a name change may be needed!

Wow, that's fast and well done you for choosing your own pace and not getting caught up with the mob. Great.

Hi Crawlhome? Well done and good on you for running your own race pace not getting caught up with the throng and then reeling them in later. Also great time too. You are doing fantastic and as you say I think you may well need a new name. Iโ€™m having trouble going off too fast, at todayโ€™s parkrun I was 29 seconds off my 28.14 PB of last week which I was a bit disappointed about as I felt I was going faster. I guess I burned my batteries out in the first 2.5 k with a 13.40 split. Just goes to show Ive got a lot to learn. I forget I was struggling with c25k week 1 in June, I think weโ€™ve all come so far and I should be more patient. Again well done and keep it going ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks Runsome, we have come a long way and further to go! I'm getting a garmin watch so I can spend even more time analysing my stats and help in my 10k training!

Yes thereโ€™s still a long way to go. Iโ€™m well envious I want a garmin too. Iโ€™ve got a cheap Chineese one which is ok but Iโ€™ve bee ogling a garmin 235 itโ€™s much bigger than my one so hopefully I can see it whilst I run. If Iโ€™m good maybe Iโ€™ll get one for Christmas ๐Ÿ˜€

Amazing CH! What an excellent time too, well done on your PB! Wasnโ€™t it the best day for parkrunning? I wish they could all be like that! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธโ˜€๏ธ ๐Ÿ‚

Thanks Cheeky, I could do with it being a bit warmer at parkrun though!

Yes it was fairly chilly to start with, although Iโ€™d walked round with my dog first to give her a run off the lead before everyone started, so I started off nice and warm. ๐Ÿ˜€
