I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else.
I’m just reaching 10 k plus on my long run, last week I was listening to a podcast that mentioned ice pops all of a sudden I got this overwhelming desire for an ice pop 😂 I know it’s not unusual to long for a drink on the long run but I mean overwhelming stronger than any pregnancy craving. This week at about 10k I started to think about a pint of ice cold vimto I could almost taste it!
Please tell me this has happened to somebody else 🤦♀️
Have a great day!

I did my first long run this week so I guess I have all this to come yet. I think the general advice seems to be that anything longer than the 5K will require adequate hydration and water along the way. I look forward to following your journey.
electrolytes and rehydration -- If you crave it, go for it. Listen to your body. Home made electrolyte drink for those small hip flasks -- water, lemon juice, pinch of salt & pinch of sugar (or honey if preferred...though don't pinch that, it's messy). Play with it. There are recipes online. Don't over do the salt or the sugar, a little goes a long way.
Brilliant!! 😁 I do drift off and really get into what I’m listening to, so I guess it just depends on what that is. I’ve not had the ice pop one yet! But now you’ve mentioned it, I do fancy a nice cold iced drink! 😉❤️
All the time... I love eggs for post workout protein so no surprise that eggs come to mind a lot, usually pickled now, but sometimes I can taste, and almost see, fried eggs, omelettes etc... it’s only when I crave them scrambled on a long run that I worry, they take ages to make!
Never had pregnancy cravings! Sounds like hydration. My first 10 k my lips were sticking together I was so dry! Running in the morning I have a glass of water before bed, I get up to pee and have another then half a glass before I go. Am doing 5k to 7.5k in 28-30 degrees at moment and that seems to work.
I’ll certainly give that a go, thanks for the tip! Good work running in that heat, it’s a good job you’re on the ball with your hydration would be so easy to become dehydrated in those temperatures 😊
Haha, I'm only running 5K plus as yet and I take water with me so I'll have to let you know when I get to 10K if the cravings start 😂...best you treat yourself to an ice pop when you get home 👍😊
