Apologies to everyone who replied to my last two posts and didn’t get any response from me. Dodgy Wi-Fi and no data since arriving has been very isolating. Well yay! New sim and back in the real world. From when we left NZ and arriving in London took 38 hours, mostly flying time but sitting at Singapore airport also, sadly Heavyfoot it was closed, so we never experienced how fabulous Changi Airport is. Never mind, on arrival I didn’t hit the ground running, as they say, in fact I haven’t run for nearly two weeks, but today I walked over 15,000 steps, so its a start. We are in London until Friday morning and then off to France for 8 days then back to UK. Its a very “cosy” hotel room we’re in, no room for stretching, I’m short but there isn’t one bit of floor space where my 5 ft 2in frame fits lengthwise, but its clean and the bed is comfortable, what more do you want? Have done V & A Museum, Natural History Museum and London Eye today, made friends with the Tube, discovered Oyster Cards, in brilliant sunshine, got rained on ( had a fold away jacket 👍) all in an afternoon. I’m so excited to be back here, but now its time for some pain relief and bed. Nite x

Thanks Stephen, very, very excited. Hoping my schoolgirl French will re-surface and I can get some little runs in, getting withdrawal symptoms. 😕

I’m sure you’ll find chances to run. I’m looking forward to some reports!

We’re off to Albert Sandi, OH has uncle killed in WW1 and we’re going to visit his grave and put poppy crosses on his and all the other NZers buried in cemetery about 70 and photograph them for all the families who will never get to visit France and then on to Dieppe to visit my great uncle’s grave who was killed in WW2, miles from you I suspect.

It is miles from us, but what a wonderful thing to do. I guess it will be quite emotional xx

Shame, but looking forward to Boston instead Sandi and I have brought loads of tissues with me especially. It will definitely be a no mascara day/s 🙂 x

Might have to rehydrate Baddie but not with beer or wine! I’ve never looked forward to having a run so much as now. Hoping all is well in your neck of the woods, its been hard to keep up with the news in Whaley Bridge. 🙂

Welcome to the northern hemisphere lexi and the same time zone for a change. From what I’ve seen of it northern France is pretty flat so I hope you get some easy runs in. Check your app for the best weather as we are due storms this weekend . I think you’ll find it quite emotional seeing all those war graves. Well done you.

Thanks Dexy, just go back to the hotel after visiting the National Gallery and Covent Garden Wow! Getting geared up for big tears in France welled up at the memorials at Hyde Park Corner today. The memorial to The Machine Gun Corp which OH uncle was a member of, especially so. Walked through the park and all I could think was how much I wished I could run through it instead. 🙂

Thanks backintime, must admit I hadn’t looked at parkruns in France, as we only have one Saturday there, but if there’s one near where we’re staying, that would be great, will have a look now. 🏃‍♀️👍
