Ordinary people would wake up, look out the window, notice the leaden skies and lashing rain and think ...... nah. π¦π¦π¦
But Iβm a runner.
I know I ran yesterday and I thought Iβd better not ...... π
So naturally I got into my running kit, hastily fed my numerous creatures so as not to miss the rainy opportunity, dragged my dog out to the car and drove up to the Common.
I ran the most delightful 4k, got absolutely soaked, splooshed happily through puddles, and then the sun came out! Epic timing for once! πββοΈπ¦π
(Donβt tell me off for running on consecutive days pleeeeease - I wonβt do it again!) π π
Happy running lovely friends. β€οΈ

It was sooooo welcome after the last few runs Iβve done. In fact I canβt remember one that hasnβt been hot and humid recently. Rainy running is so refreshing! π¦π¦π¦π¦
I'm a runner but I'd think nah! You can run consecutive days once you've been running for a year and grown runners legs apparently. Just remember to have rest days too π
You seem to get more than your fair share of rain though Baddie, so I understand your thinking. π
Iβve been running for over a year now and Iβm so slow Iβm assuming Iβll be safe to run consecutive days every now and then. I wonβt run until the weekend now. ππββοΈπ
I think after your epic 18k you have earned the right to run on consecutive days every now and again! And no sign of Jeff this morning - it's all goodπββοΈ!!
Thanks Dexy! Yes I suppose the year starts from graduation doesnβt it? Iβve been counting it from W1R1. Oh well, my snail pace has its uses keeping me (so far) injury free. ππ€
Hope you are treated to a refreshing run today too. πββοΈππ
Sounds wonderful! ππ¦π§ Rainy runs are great once you're out there...and I am dreaming away these humid summer days, thinking of the cooler blowy autumn runs ahead!!π¨ππ
Slightly jealous..I have managed to miss all the showers this week so far. After torrential rain showed yesterday, I went to run club last night and the sun was splitting the trees. But I suppose my runners tan is coming along lol. Sounds like a lovely run in the Common.
Haha! I know exactly what you mean about the runners tan Aldlib! Yes that sun has some serious strength doesnβt it? Hope you get a wet and/or cool run soon. π€π€
I don't blame you cheeky! The thought of a cool wet run cheers me up ! Did 8 miles last weekend , it was soooo hot and humid, not very enjoyable. Oh well shouldn't complain. π Enjoy your weekend run x
I know CB, I feel bad complaining about the heat, knowing that winter will cause its own grumbles. But for now Iβm going to relish every wet/cool run I can! This weekend looks particularly wet here, and very windy indeed! π¦π¨π³
Love this.. It just feels wrong that I'm looking forward to winter.
Oh well done! I love running in the rain! And once a week now I run on consecutive days, doesn't seem to be a problem, I just fit in a road run if I can. π¨π§π§π§
Good run for you in the β rain today Cheeky, that thing about running on consecutive days really only applies to new runners on C25K who have not been running for 6 months or less, you are now a GRADUATE 10 and have been running for over a year so that rule no longer applies to you.
Brilliant Al. I donβt run fast at any rate, and Iβd obviously not run on consecutive days after a particularly long run, so hopefully Iβll be ok if the chance of running in the rain arises again! Loved it. π¦π¦π¦πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Hahaha I know what you mean about Alice Cooper Bridget! Today it was so spur of the moment I didnβt bother with any makeup at all (just lip balm), so Alice didnβt visit me today! π π
Isnβt it wonderful? I canβt wait for my next rainy run. PR might be, but the joy of rain might be tempered a bit by the gale force winds weβre supposed to be having. π³ π¨
Like you, I stopped at 4k as the rain was tapering off and then the sun came out! πββοΈπ¦ βοΈ
Brilliant CC. I ran in a downpour week before last at Park Run; it was wonderful. I didn't notice the rain....just the puddles!
It is nearly a year since my graduation....so I will be allowed to run in consecutive days too? Must think about a milestone run to celebrate....anniversary of my C25k start was a bit of a damp squib!
Fantastic isnβt it BC? I made little effort to avoid the puddles, they cooled my feet!
My graduation runniversary is August 18th. Iβm going to revisit C25K and do W1R1 with Michael Johnson, except Iβll jog-run rather than walk-jog! What do you think you might do? π
Well done you. The only thing that kept me from running was icy pavements , didn't want to break my neckπ other than that I go out in all weather's. It's amazing what running does to us, but in a really good way π
Same here, I don't like the ice. We had a parkun in snow once which was ok as it is on grass so not slippery. But we stopped after one lap, only because we were worried about driving up the hill to get home. It was a good move because our road was very bad.
