Morning running friends

Hello all, just wanted to check in and say hi.

I have been on here very little the last couple of weeks due to ongoing battles with the dreaded asthma, working lots of hours and of course the WEATHER!!!

And this morning I have again woken up to howling gales and blizzards.

However yesterday my entry details for the Blyth 10k in just a few weeks arrived so I need to get cracking and have set myself a schedule of 3 x 5k runs this week and an 8k at the weekend to get back up there.

This looks like the last day of the really bad weather so take care if you are venturing out.

Run happy, run safe.

Sounds like a plan Chris, good luck with the race my friend 🏃🏃😊

I have lost track of things a bit, have you done a 10k proper race as yet or do you have one booked?

TedGGraduate10 in reply to ChrisAllen1

The race I had booked was snowed off a couple of weeks ago, a blessing really as it gave a chance for my shin injury to heel.

Me and my brother were in the process of arranging another one til I pulled a hamstring on a Parkrun yesterday, it popped 4.3k into the run, jeez did it hurt 😖

Back on the IC again!! 🤬

Off to see a Sports Physio this week 🙄

Oh dear, hang in there mate. Once Spring finally arrives things will be so much easier.

Im sorry to hear of the injury Ted.

Morning. Life gets in the way sometimes but it sounds as if you are a man with a plan. Enjoy your training and good luck with the race.

So, you have a target Chris, I agree with Ted your plan sounds fine and will work.

Good luck and enjoy it...once its safe to run outside..😊x

We have lots of snow in Guildford today too, I think I may leave my run til tomorrow 😆...

Yes, tomorrow it begins to look a bit better, say hi to Guildford for me, I left in 1996 and haven't ever had a chance to get back down but many happy memories of 26 years there. 😁

Ooo Jan, I live in Horsham! It's nice to know that someone on here is close by... even though it would probably take me a week to jog over and say hi!! :)

BluebirdrunnerGraduate10 in reply to Fishypieface

Hi Fishypieface...oooh Horsham is nice!😊..

Nah, it's being ruined with housing estates. I've lived here all my life but think a change is due!

Good luck! :)

Sorry about the asthma and the weather (are the two connected?). Your plan sounds like a good one and I am sure you will be fine for the 10k - good luck!!

ChrisAllen1Graduate10 in reply to HeleneCorsa

I'm not sure about a connection between asthma and cold as I also had a flare up last summer.

It's actually not that bad at the moment. It's more been the awful weather that has been keeping me in.

It is supposed to ease from tomorrow. Oh to be in Rome!!!

We've had hailstones today!

Spring is on its way!!

You are having some cold weather up there Chris... go you and that 10K sounds a great goal to aim for :)

Real feel minus 9 here today... white over.. even the beach:)

I know, it's ridiculous. After much consideration I have decided I am done with winter!!! 😁

Sounds like a great plan and am sure you’ll nail it. I got up and ran early this morning as the OH was out on a bird count at Meldon, due back home for coffee and toast at 10am so I took the chance and got my 5k in. Glad I did now as it’s been snowing heavily here since about 10am.

Take care and I hope your 3 planned 5k runs this week are good ones!
