Well my 3 runs a week resolution lasted about as long as those I make at New Year. This week I've only run twice - but I l'd like to plead mitigating circumstances:
1. I had a sore hip following my Sunday run so decided to have two days rest and planned to run Wed, Fri and Sun.
2. By Wed we had had 3 continuous days of rain and a plumbing problem at home meant we had no hot water. A soaking run followed by no hot shower or bath was not an inviting prospect... ๐
3. Still no hot water on Thursday and yet more rain and mad preparations at school for a visit from the local MP. No running ๐
However Friday came and the end of school coincided with the sun coming out. The plumbing problems were ongoing but the MP visit had been a huge success so felt I could manage anything if I could get a run in with the promise of wine later.
So ran through wheat fields on Friday evening and a workaday round the block 5k this morning. Not a champion week - but the resolution to run 3x a week meant I did get out twice (would have been so easy to have given up altogether). So not beating myself up about being one run down and tomorrow starts a whole new week ๐ (you never know I might squeeze 4 runs in).
Happy running everyone.

Recovery and required recovery days are everything. To my cost so is stretching. Not doing it after all and any muscle contraction.๐คNot just cardio and strength sessions.
I am not going to beat myself up any more, just run because we can.
It sounds like another heavy week. (Especially the rain). If you aim high then sometimes you will fall short but sometimes you will achieve your goals - if you aim low then you will always meet your goals but it will be less satisfying! Well done on setting what must be a difficult goal at the moment. Happy running - not far to go to the end of term.
Beautiful photo. I only managed one run last week, so I think youโre doing really well. The weather isnโt helping me get out there, but Iโm just trying to stay up to date on my 700km target for the year. Iโve got to do 15km per week for the next 2 weeks or Iโll fall behind. That sun had better show its face next week!
I really hate the wet weather - it makes everything seemvso gloomy. It was so lovely to see the sun at the end of last week.
I ran about 750k last year and set myself a 1000k target for this year, but what with weird knee conditions and work I am quite literally miles and miles behind. Think I'll have to run a marathon every week of the summer holiday to have a hope of catching up! May have to revise my goals ๐.
